Highlights: Ducks’ offense flies under new Oregon offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham

From the very start of the game, Oregon Duck fans had to know that they were in for quite a show.

With Bo Nix and the yellow team on the field to kick off the annual spring game, things started with a bang as Seven McGee hauled in a 70-yard pass on the first play from scrimmage, leaving the crowd in a frenzy.

A couple of plays later, McGee had a nice one-handed TD grab that kick off the scoring, and the Ducks were off to the races.

We knew that the offense that Kenny Dillingham was bringing to Oregon was going to be more explosve than we’ve seen under previous coaches, but until Saturday, it was hard to know just what we were in for.

After a 31-21 final in the spring game, plus 611 yards of total offense on the day, fans should now have good idea of just what the Ducks are going to be able to do on that side of the ball this year.

If you missed the game, here are some of the highlights that took place throughout the day:

Starting off on the right foot

After the relatively conservative years of Mario Cristobal where deep passes weren’t common, the new Oregon coaching staff chose to make a statement early on. Really early on. This was the first play from scrimmage for the Ducks.

Dont'e Thornton On the Board

Going into the spring game, WR Dont’e Thornton was someone we highlighted as a potential breakout player after his impressive offseason. He didn’t disappoint, with 116 yards and 2 touchdowns, including this one to put Yellow up 14-0.

Ty Thompson Joins the Party

While Bo Nix may have had an early lead in the highlight department, Ty Thompson couldn’t be held down for long. Here is his nice bullet to Troy Franklin over the middle for six.

Welcome to the Show, Young Buck

One of the best parts about spring games is the fact that early enrollees have a chance to make first impressions. True freshman Jahlil Florence did just that with this INT.

Get on in Here, Jay

Not to be outdone by his fellow quarterbacks, Jay Butterfield had a nice connection with Josh Delgado, who crossed the goal line for an easy TD after this impressive catch.

The Transfer Fits Right In

A small running back who has explosive speed off of the edge? Yea, that’s something that Oregon fans can get behind. Great Duck debut for Noah Whittington.

Cookies!

Every defender’s dream is crossing that goal line with the ball in your hands. Dreams became reality for Trikweze Bridges after this impressive pick-six to open the second half.

Bo-to-Dont'e Part 2

They had so much fun on the first touchdown that they had to do it again. Bo Nix and Dont’e Thornton certainly have a connection on the field.
