High school soccer: Race for the playoffs intensifies in second half of district play

District soccer action continues across the Austin area for local schools with a few teams still undefeated. District schedules are in the second half of play with teams meeting for the second time.

Boys

Anderson 4, Johnson 2: Jesse Lang, Rowan Martin, Cooper Mills and Angel Martinez found the net to lead the Trojans. Trevor Rener also had an assist.

Westlake 1, Lake Travis 0: William Fagerberg’s goal and Tobin Nguyen’s clean sheet gave the Chaps the win in the second round of the Battle of the Lakes.

Hendrickson 3, Cedar Creek 1: Miguel Escelante’s brace and Fabian Kent’s goal paced the Hawks. Mateo Palma and Moises Aguirre added assists.

Glenn 4, Lehman 0: Tito Don Juan’s two goals and an assist, Ayden Leiva’s brace and Vince Rodriguez’s two assists led the Grizzlies. Keller Marchant had the shutout in goal.

Rouse 1, Leander 0: Sebastian Grande Flores finished a pass from Joseph Reyes for the Raiders’ goal. Grant Simmons had the shutout in goal.

Connally 3, Georgetown 2: Orlando Frias had a goal and assist and Lawrence Doe and Shehram Hayatullah scored for the Cougars in the win. Martin Valdes and Benni Ponce found the net for the Eagles and Chris Mashburn and Alexis Ramirez tallied assists.

McCallum 1, Crockett 0: Gus Ehlers scored for the fourth game in a row, this one coming off a pass from Ethan Roberts, and Summit Flowers recorded a clean sheet to pace the Knights.

Elgin 2, East View 1: The Wildcats kept their playoff hopes alive thanks to goals from Miguel Aguilar and Luis Cruz, with the latter’s being the game-winner off a free kick in the last 10 minutes. Hector Morales scored off a pass from Chris Gomez for the Patriots.

LASA 6, Eastside 0: Yohannes Heineman finished with two goals and two assists, Alex Marintzer had a brace and Kiran Kini tallied a goal and two assists to lead the Raptors. Aditya Gupta also scored for LASA.

Del Valle 5, Akins 0: Diego Martinez, Octavio Estrada, Manuel Guebara, Winston Enamorado and Carlos Delgadillo all finished goals while Victor Rodriguez tallied two assists for the Cardinals. Chris Santana, Winston Enamorado and Elian Bardales also recorded assists.

Hutto 0, Weiss 0: Juleeanh Ontiveros had the shutout for the Wolves and Kevin Vasquez produced the clean sheet for the Hippos.

Pflugerville 5, Bastrop 0: Luis Martinez recorded a brace and an assist, Salah Moudni had this third consecutive brace and Carlos Cruz scored to pace the Panthers. Chris Bonds also tallied an assist, with Nico Marra and Juan Denova combining for the clean sheet in goal.

Northeast 0, LBJ 0: Gerson Dominguez had the clean sheet for the Raiders, with Axel Pineda providing the shutout for the Jaguars.

Bowie 6, Dripping Springs 1: Garrett Herb scored twice and Joseph Sibley, Rowen Wells, Fritz DelNegro and Karsten Albrecht all had goals as the Bulldogs continue to bludgeon opponents. Joe Kwon had two assists, with Jake Ciccarello, Griffin Crawley and Ben Tillisch also recording passes that led to goals. Dylan Zahn scored for the Tigers.

Girls

Westlake 4, Lake Travis 0: The Chaps dominated the second round of the Battle of the Lakes behind a goal and two assists from AJ Carlson, goals by Cadence Carlson, Grace Condon and Georgia Millikin and assists by Margaret Barton and Carter Utkov. Sophia Martin had the shutout in goal.

Anderson 1, Johnson 1: Drew Taylor scored for the Jaguars, and Gracie Ruthven found the net for the Trojans.

Leander 1, Rouse 1: Ashley Perez scored for the Raiders, and Kylie Jamar finished a pass from Kylie Bernall for the Lions.
