Cumberland 58, East Providence 52

A trio of Clippers players reached double digits in scoring paving the way for Cumberland's victory over East Providence. Hunter Zancan scored 16, Joe Parenteau knocked down 15 and Connor Allard added 11 more points in the win. Tyler Gomes scored a team-high 10 for the Townies and Christian Torres and Kenaz Ochgwu added 9 and 8 points, respectively. Both teams are 6-4 in league play.

Boys Basketball

Division I

Cranston East 49, East Greenwich 48

Twenty points by Albert Kesse and 16 by Darien Peterson helped the Falcons edge the Avengers. EG's Rees Maccarone led all scorers with 26 points and  Javien David had 13 but the Avengers remained winless at 0-9. Cranston East is now 2-8.

Smithfield 70, North Kingstown 58

CJ Blakely lit up the scoreboard with 21 points, including 4 treys, and Devon Smith added 14 more as Smithfield (4-3) knocked off North Kingstown (4-6). The threesome of Landon Bodington, Michael DeOrsey and Jake Perry kept the Skippers in the game as they each reached double-digits in scoring. Bodington topped all scorers with 23, DeOrsey knocked down 18 and Perry had 12.

Barrington 61, Westerly 54

The play of Mike Raffa (22 pts.) and Nick Scandura (15 pts.) helped lift Barrington to victory over Westerly. Lucas Pennell led the Bulldogs in scoring with a dozen points and teammates Jesse Samo and Melo Hamlin scored 11 apiece in the loss. With the win, the Eagles move to 9-1 pm the season in Division I play; the Bulldogs slip to 3-8.

Division II

Pilgrim 52, Cranston West 50

The balanced scoring of Carter Clifton (13 points), Dylan Vale (13) and Jack McConnell (10) lifted the Patriots to the narrow win. Pilgrim, which improved its record to 5-3,  led 26-23 at halftime and 43-38 after three quarters. Donald Perry scored 10 points, and Adreyan PerezKennedy Arias, and Jaymien Aponte each netted 9 for the Falcons, now 2-4.

Chariho 44, Hope 41

In a close contest throughout, Mason Cabida led the Chargers with 15 points en route to Chariho's second win of the season in Division II play. For the Blue Wave, Dariel Genao Encarnacion netted a game-high 18 points in the loss. Chariho improves to 2-6 in league play, while Hope slips to 1-8.

Division III

Burrillville 63, Middletown 44

Nolan Serafin shots the lights out scoring 32 points including 6 from beyond the arc, and he grabbed 23 boards to lead Burrillville to a win over Middletown. For the Islanders, Roberto Figueras had 16 points and RJ Wiggins added 13 more in the loss.

North Smithfield 76, Prout 52

Connor Reilly (18 points), Al Viera Dones (16) and Carter Deslauriers (11) combined to lead the Northmen to their ninth win in 10 divisional games. Lawson O'Hearn led the Prout attack with 18 points, including 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. The Crusaders fall to 4-5.

Girls Basketball

DIVISION II

Central Falls 56, Burrillville 46

Pamela Galva scored 19 points, with 11 assists and Arielly De Andrade had 19 points and 15 rebounds as the Warriors (2-6) handled the visiting Broncos in this Division III matchup. Kamila Pizarro added 12 points and 6 steals in the win. For Burrillville (6-3), Ava Ayote had 32 points, with five 3-pointers, in the loss.

Chariho 64, Cumberland 45

The Chargers' third quarter told the story of this one. Up by a pair at the break, Chariho (9-1) outscored the Clippers 26-10 in the third to seal this Division II victory. Jules White led all scorers with 20 points, and Keira Frias added 17. For Cumberland (5-4), Allison Casavant had a team-high 7.

North Providence 35, North Smithfield 33

Trailing 22-18 at the half, the Cougars fought back and edged the Northmen. Andrea Vasquez finished with 9 points for NP, while Bryson Murray and Raeghan Reilly each had 9 for North Smithfield.

Exeter-West Greenwich 50, Pilgrim 30

Ella Johnson accounted for 14 points, 7 steals and 2 rebounds, Kate Hebert contributed 12 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals and Emma Mears chipped in with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals as they paced the Scarlet Knights to victory, their ninth in 11 games. Skylar Hawes and Kiera Maher each had 6 points for the Patriots, who fall to 2-8.

Pawtucket 54, Coventry 34

The Oakers were down a pair of starters and the Shea-Tolman co-op took advantage, jumping out to a  36-18 halftime lead at halftime. Pawtucket was led by Armani Rivera, who had 15 points, and Tiyara Gonzalez added 13. For Coventry, Victoria Healy netted a game-high 18 points and Leah Lapham added 10 in the loss. With the win, Pawtucket improves to 9-1 and Coventry slips to 6-5

DIVISION IV

Davies 55, Central 22

Davies had 10 players get on the score sheet, including Aniyah Gomes and Jayla Depina, who scored 14 points apiece, as they raced past Central. Maddison Bellanger also contributed to the win with 10 points. Ciara Rosario topped the Knights in scoring with 7 points.
