GIRLS LACROSSE

Division I

Moses Brown 17, La Salle 4

Maddie Chase and Grace MacLean combined for 10 goals and scored half of those in the third quarter when the Quakers turned a close game into a 17-4 rout.

Moses Brown led 3-2 after the first quarter, 5-3 at halftime and managed to get a mercy-rule running-clock situation before the third quarter ended. Hannah West played a big role on the Quakers’ success, dominating the draw circle where Charley Lagor came swooping in to pick up ball after ball to give the team possession.

Moses Brown made the most of those possessions. MacLean and West scored within the first four minutes of the quarter to extend the lead to 7-3. Izzy Cummings scored with 4:31 left to put the Quakers up 9-3, starting a run that saw MB score five goals in 2:18 seconds.

Chase and MacLean finished with five goals apiece. West scored three and Cummings and Lily Madeira both scored two.

La Salle’s Lily Peters scored two goal in the first quarter and Ella Grace added one late in the second quarter that made it a 5-3 game at halftime.

Prout 14, East Greenwich 4

Ella Martin scored 6 goals teammate Sylvia Mayo scored 5 more as Prout took care of business. vs. East Greenwich.

Division III

East Providence 18, Providence Country Day 3

Katherine Almeida led the rout for East Providence with 4 goals. She was assisted by Dylan Flynn, Kloey Iacovone Alyssa Karalekas and Kenna Wigginton with 3 goals each. Townies goaltender Ava Williams had 9 saves. For the Knights, Finnley Dietrich, Eloise Wetherby and Ellie Cordischi had 1 goal apiece. East Providence is now 5-5 on the season while PCD is 3-7.

Westerly 19, Rogers 5

Hannah Seltzer scored a game-high 5 goals, Casey Macera recorded a hattrick, Riley Peloquin added two goals and all three had two assists each in the Bulldogs win over The Vikings. Julia Page had four goals for Rogers in the loss.

BASEBALL

Division II

Barrington 4, Prout 0

Connor Marley was one out short of pitching a complete game allowing 0 runs on only 2 hits while striking 8 as the Eagles blanked Prout. The two hits Marley gave up were both by Ryan Barrett - an infield single in the fourth and a line drive single in the fifth. He didn’t allow any Crusader to advance as far as third base. Trevor Snow drove in 3 runs for the Eagles, two on a single in the third and one on a groundout in the fifth. Teammates Miles Fontaine tripled and later stole home in the fifth for Barrington’s fourth run, Gabe Tanous was 2-for-4 with three stolen bases while Fin Thomson also tripled.

Chariho 8, Johnston 3

Adam Carpenter led the way for Chariho with 2 hits, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored as the Chargers compiled 10 hits in the game. Landon Sumner contributed 3 hits and 2 RBI and Christian Mancini added 2 hits and 2 RBI. Sumner pitched 5⅓ innings for Chariho with 4 strikeouts. Armani Arias had 2 hits and 3 RBI for Johnston.

St. Raphael 4, Middletown 0

Harold Fernandez struck out five en route to a complete-game shutout of the Islanders, At the plate he was 1-3 with an RBI, while teammates Evan Candelario was 3-4 with an RBI, and Tyler Tremblay was 2-3 with an RBI. For Middletown, Evan Agren struck out 4 over 5.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run in the loss. The Saints improved to 8-5 on the season.

Narragansett 3, Mount St. Charles 2

Zach Previte's single in the seventh inning drove home Jackson Hohl, who had reached on a single and stole second. Hohl, Previte and Riley Cronin each had two hits on the day for the Mariners. Narragansett starter Aidan Clancey threw 5.2 innings, struck out 7 and allowed just 3 hits and one earned run in the win. For the Mounties, Connor Thibault threw a complete game with 7 strikeouts and Brody Stenovitch drove in both runs.

Division III

West Warwick 4, Scituate 1

Dominic Carollo threw no-hit, no-run ball for four innings and teammate Logan Dean pitched the final two inning without allowing a run as the Wizards upended the Spartans. Dean and Kody Fretts drove in two runs apiece for WW.

SOFTBALL

Division I

La Salle 13, Prout 1

Haley Vigneau struck out 12 over six innings as the Rams easily handled the Crusaders. Phoenyx Silva, Lily Roumelis, Diana Hall and Kayleigh Ventura each had 2 RBIs, with Roumelis scoring 3 times. For Prout, Kelsea Flaherty was 3-3 at the plate, and Mead D'Iorio drove in the team's lone run.

Cumberland 8, North Kingstown 0

Lacie Grenier had two hits, including a 2-run homer, and she also drove in 3 runs, and Cavities McVeigh and Bella Iannuccilli had 3 and 2 hits, respectively, as the Clippers shut out the Skippers. Jill Ryone pitched five innings of shut out ball and Juliana Jenkins blanked NK in the final two innings.

Pilgrim 6, Chariho 4

Marin Prest and Audra McDonnell each hit homers, and drove in a pair of runs, as the Patriots scored 3 runs in the 10th inning to top the Chargers and add to their streak of seven games without a loss. In the circle, Gretchen Dombeck struck out 4 over 10 innings, allowing just 2 earned runs. For Chariho, Emma Kocab was 3-5 at the plate, and Adriana Jeannenot struck out an impressive 14 Patriots over 10 innings in taking the hard-luck loss.

Coventry 11, St. Raphael 1

The Oakers’ Leah Lapham hit two home runs and drove in four runs in the rout. Isabella Dyl contributed with a solo homer. Sage Soares was the winning pitcher for Coventry, allowing six hits and a run over six innings. Ava Hawley led the Oakers with three hits. Gemma D’Orazio had two hits for the Saints.

Anna Costello was a one-woman show for the Quakers, striking out 12 Townies in a complete-game win on Thursday. At the plate, she was 3-4 with 4 RBIs. Teammate Julianna Masse was 2-3 with 3 RBIs and and Lucy Kinnell drove in 2 more. For EP, Marianna Pina and Shelby Quinn each had a hit and an RBI in the loss.

Division II

Scituate 21, Mt. Hope 7

Victoria Geisser went 3-5 with 5 RBIs and Abigail Chatelle was 3-4 with 4 RBI as the Spartans scored in bunches and shortened the game to five innings. In the circle, Geisser and Isabella Defusco combined to strike out 6 in the victory. For the Huskies, Julia Allen was 2-2 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored in the loss.

West Warwick 9, Toll Gate 5

The Wizards jumped out to a 6 to 0 lead going into the bottom of the 5th. Toll Gate, hitless through 4 innings, broke out in a big way by stringing 5 hits together to plate 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th making it a one-run game. West Warwick grabbed a run in the 6th and 2 more in the 7th to extend the lead and seal the win. For the Wizards, Allie Iannotti had 3 hits and Olivia Zajdek had 2. For the Titans, Sydney Villegas had a hit and 2 RBI. Emma Pinault got the win for WW, allowing 5 hits, 5 runs with 6 strikeouts over 7 innings.

Division III

Rogers 4, Tiverton 3

The Vikings' Tess Margolis allowed 1 earned run, while striking out 4 and giving up 5 hits to earn the win. Margaret Phelps and Lillian Reilly each had 3 hits (including a double), and Taylor Gray and Brynn Palmer each had two hits, while Jasani Ramos, Jazelle Ramos and Gray played great defense. For Tiverton, Lia Doster had two hits and Abigail MelloEilish Condon and Delia Pieroni each had a hit in the loss.

Cranston East 9, Davies 1

Izzy Sousa was an unstoppable force on Thursday, striking out an incredible 20 batters and driving in four runs — including 3 on a home run to left field — to lead the Thunderbolts past the Patriots. Samaya Imondi was 2-4 at the plate and Nevaeh Fatorma stole two bases in the win, improving to 10-0 in league play. Gabriella Fisher took the loss for Davies, after striking out 10 'Bolts.

Kody Poplaski led the Chargers with 26 kills and 14 digs, Landon Marland had 11 kills and 3 aces and Kasey Poplaski had 47 assists in the win, 24-26, 25-23, 25-15, 25-21.

Division II

Barrington 3, Pilgrim 0

Cam Kelley had 10 kills and 3 aces, Jame Ciummo recorded 4 kills and 6 aces and Luke Van Ness had 7 digs and 1 ace as the Eagles swept Pilgrim, 25-9, 25-8, 25-9. Barrington improves its record to 10-3.

Division III

Times2/Paul Cuffee/St. Patrick 3, Achievement First 2

Down 2-0, the Times2/PC/ St. Pats team came back to win three games to take the victory, 20-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-9,15-9. T2/PC/St. Pats improves to 2-10 while Achievement First falls to 2-11.

Davies 3, Middlebridge 1

Glen Andrade had 12 aces, 6 kills and 2 blocks and teammate Santiago Giraldo Marin recorded 3 aces and 10 assists in the Patriots win, 25-16, 25-16, 27-29, 25-22.

Juanita Sanchez 3, Exeter-West Greenwich 0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-19)

Portsmouth 3, Burrillville 0 

Alex Goss led the Patriots with 3 aces and 9 digs, Sean Wilkey had an ace, 7 kills and 5 digs and Lukas Huffman recorded 2 aces, 1 kill and 13 digs in the win, 25-12, 25-10, 25-18.
