High school roundup: Beaver River, Lowville claim division titles in girls soccer
Sep. 27—BEAVER RIVER — McKinley Becker scored a goal and assisted on another to spark a balanced effort as Beaver River's girls soccer team downed Thousand Islands, 5-0, on Wednesday in a Frontier League "C" Division encounter.
Ashlyn Boliver, Kennedy Becker, Jasmine Martin and Natalie Hughes each contributed a goal for the unbeaten Beavers, who with the win, secured the division title outright, once again repeating as champion.
Beaver River improves to 10-0-1, including 8-0-1 in league play.
The Beavers have won the past eight "C" Division crowns, including finishing a perfect 12-0 in league play last season.
Goalkeeper Julia Paratore was credited with 26 saves for the Vikings (0-10-1, 0-9).
LOWVILLE 2, GENERAL BROWN 0
Alyssa Millard and Stephanie Beyer each scored a goal as the Red Raiders blanked the Lions in a "B" Division game in Dexter.
Tai Nortz contributed two assists for Lowville (9-0, 8-0), which clinched the division title with the victory.
The Red Raiders last claimed a division championship in 2019.
Goalie Geona Wood was credited with 21 saves for General Brown (5-5-2, 3-5-2).
LYME 2, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 0
Goalie Kennady Scott made seven saves to record the shutout as the Lakers blanked the Panthers to win a "D" Division game
in Chaumont.
Delaney Linkroum and Jillian Alberry each scored a goal in the second half to lift Lyme (3-7, 3-5) to the victory.
Goalie Eily Vaughn was credited with 19 saves for Belleville Henderson (5-4).
WATERTOWN 8, CARTHAGE 4
Delaney Callahan scored a pair of goals and Ella Bowman contributed a goal and two assists as the Cyclones cruised past the Comets to win an "A" Division game in Carthage.
Alexandra Macutek chipped in with a goal and an assist and Ella Smith, Willa Overton, Olivia Macutek and Adriana Arthur each added a goal for Watertown (7-2-2, 5-2-1).
Gina Blake scored a pair of goals and assisted on another for Carthage (1-9, 0-8).
INDIAN RIVER 5, SOUTH JEFFERSON 0
Mackenzie Adams generated three goals as the Warriors topped the Spartans in an interdivisional game in Adams.
Meghan Jones and Mackenzie Gorski each contributed a goal for Indian River (9-1-2, 7-1-1) and goalies Maleri Streiff and Paige Donelson made five and three saves, respectively, to combine on the shutout against South Jefferson.
With the win, the Warriors secured at least a tie for the "A" Division championship.

Samantha Ferguson scored two goals and assisted on another as the Bulldogs (7-1) blanked the Comets (3-5-1) in a nonleague game in Westmoreland.

In NAC boys soccer, Potsdam defeated Malone, 4-1, Massena edged Salmon-River, 2-1 in overtime, Gouverneur blanked Norwood-Norfolk, 6-0, Canton downed Ogdensburg Free Academy, 2-0, and Edwards-Knox trimmed Morristown, 2-1.
