The veteran Tucci guided Malvern to its first district championship since 2017. The Hornets were the final remaining undefeated team in the state, winning their first 27 games before losing in a Division III regional final to Canal Winchester Harvest Prep. Tucci gained the 600th win of his 41-year career earlier this season. Malvern has won 34 straight regular season games and is a combined 51-3 the last two seasons.

Barrino, a 6-foot-2 point guard, averaged 18.4 points, 6.2 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 4.7 steals for the Hornets. He shot an incredible 72.9 percent from the floor. Barrino was an Ohio Mr. Basketball finalist and earned player of the year awards from the IVC North and the East District.

Vlacovsky was the only returning starter from Central's 2023 district championship team. The Crusaders (18-8) repeated as Division III district champs in 2024, this time with Vlacovsky as the team leader. The 6-1 junior guard averaged team highs of 19.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 steals to go with 2.8 assists per game. Vlacovsky, who was the Northeast Inland District Co-Player of the Year, shot 45.0 percent from the floor, 85.3 percent from the foul line and 34.9 percent from the 3-point line.

Shilling, a 6-10 senior, averaged 23.0 points and 11.8 rebounds in leading East Canton to a 17-7 record — a 10-win improvement from last season. The District 4 coaches association player of the Year, Shilling shot 52.2 percent from the floor. He finished second in East Canton history in career points (1,248) and rebounds (867). He owns school records for single-season points (553) and single-game points (45).
