Cincinnati eliminated from playoff contention with loss to Kansas City, Pittsburgh win

The 8-8 Cincinnati Bengals were eliminated from playoff contention with Sunday's NFL Week 17 loss to the AFC rival Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' win in Seattle against the Seahawks coupled with the Bengals' loss left Cincinnati without a chance to earn an AFC Wild Card berth.

The updated NFL playoff picture shows the Bengals on the outside looking in.

The Bengals entered their game ranked No. 10 among AFC teams, with seven available playoff spots. Cincinnati was facing elimination with a loss in Kansas City coupled with a Pittsburgh win in Seattle.

The Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins are the only AFC teams to have clinched playoff berths.

The Bengals face the Browns at 1 p.m. next Sunday.

The Houston Texans visit the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday with a Wild Card at stake.
