Heating up: Monday's Fantastic Five MetroWest and Milford-area high school athletes

Warmer weather means more work for scoreboard operators. Monday's MetroWest and Milford-area fantastic Five high school athletes poured it on.

They crushed home runs, set milestones and guided their teams to victory.

Without further ado, here's who stood out Monday, May 13:

TATE BANNISH, Wellesley baseball

He homered twice and had four RBIs on a 3-for-4 day in a 9-6 win against Newton North that took eight innings. Wellesley's Luke Miele and Max Boehm each launched a two-run homer, while CJ Hartigan earned the win for the Raiders (10-4, 7-3 Bay State) with two innings of relief.

TIMMY KEARNEY, Lincoln-Sudbury boys volleyball

He distributed 40 assists with three kills in a 3-0 win over Newton South. Ryan Heberling led the Warriors (8-5) with 11 kills in the 25-19, 25-23, 25-22 victory. Kieran Fagan had nine kills and three aces for L-S, while Ben Gottlieb (ace) and Sebastiano D'Ambrosio put down eight kills each.

CAROLINE MAHONEY & GRACE MAKKAS, Dover-Sherborn girls tennis

The Raiders No. 1 doubles pair clinched a 3-2 win over Algonquin over three tight sets. They won the first 7-5 against the Titans' Claire Wallace and Becca White before falling 5-7. The Raiders then prevailed 6-2 to take the match. D-S also won at second doubles when Lauren Green and Emma Motley beat Sophie Kopstein and Riya Mahanta 6-2, 6-4. At No. 1 singles, Leah Hills prevailed 6-1, 6-1 for the Raiders against Emmy Beauchesne. Algonquin's Siyona Bhagwat bested Mia Griebel 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles, while Siya Arde won 6-4, 6-3 against Sofia Romoli at No. 3.

HOLLY PAHARIK, Hopkinton softball

She launched a homer that delivered the 100th RBI of her career, as the Hillers beat Holliston 14-1. Alex Riesenberger didn't allow a hit over five innings for Hopkinton (12-5).

MAEVE POWERS, AMSA girls lacrosse

She scored four goals and notched the 100th point of her career in a 15-1 win over Assabet. Claire Jackson put away a goal and four assists for the Eagles (11-2, 6-0 Colonial).

LAURA RICE, Westborough softball

She crushed two home runs and a double en route to seven RBIs that provided the difference in a 9-2 win over Shrewsbury. Bryce Kane allowed just one earned run and struck out seven baters for the Rangers (6-8, 2-4 Mid-Wach A).

JESSICA ZANCHI, Keefe Tech girls track and field

She captured two gold medals at the State Vocational Small School Championships. Zanchi won the 200-meter dash in 27.5 seconds and was part of the Broncos' winning 4x100 relay. She ran with Aaliyah Perez, Stella Texeira and Kailyn McGee to set a school record in 52.71. Zanchi also finished fourth in the triple jump (30-10). McGee took fifth in the 100 (13.89) and the triple jump (30-7). Perez added a bronze medal in the long jump (14-9.5), and Texeira placed fourth in he 800 (2:43.43). Keefe Tech's Bino Silva was second in the javelin (93-9) and fourth in the discus (72-0). Faith Arena finished sixth in the 400 hurdles for the Broncos (1:19.53).

Baseball

TRI-COUNTY 12, Old Colony 2: Sean Trusevitch drove in two runs for the Cougars (6-7). Tri-County's Cam Cummings and Dylan Maw dropped in two hits, while Nathan McCurdy earned the win on the mount after allowing just three hits and one earned run over six innings.

HUDSON 6, Groton Dunstable 2: Anthony Moura was 3-for-4 with an RBI and scored two runs for the Hawks (7-9). Hudson's Tanner Richard added two hits, an RBI and a run.

LINCOLN-SUDBURY 5, Algonquin 4: Jake Haarde doubled and singled, scoring there runs with two stolen bases and an RBI for the Warriors (13-3), who have won 12 games in a row. He also drove in the tying run and scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly from Cooper Tarantino (hit). L-S' Logan Umbach was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Connor Hammond doubled and scored the tying run. Sam Shuckerow earned the win in relief, and Sam Fletcher allowed just two hits and a run over five innings with nine strikeouts for the Warriors. Jackson Redfern plated two with a single as part of a four-run sixth for the Titans (5-9) and Tighe Clark added a double, an RBI and a run.

HOPKINTON 5, Holliston 0: Charlie Petruney (double), Lucas Hodne (run) and Keenan MacDonald (run) each had a hit and an RBI for the Hillers. Hopkinton's Peter Mahon had an RBI and two walks, while Nick Pedroli doubled and scored a run. Hopkinton's Drew Riesenberger struck out four over four innings and allowed just three hits. Holliston's Sam Schoenberg contributed two hits.

NORTON 8, Millis 5: Talon Shepardson was 4-for-4 with three RBIs for Millis. Aidan Sugrue added a hit and an RBI.

NIPMUC 1, Blackstone Valley Tech 0: Daniel Heisler struck out seven in a shutout, and Cody Jameson doubled and scored on a single by Jackson Allcock in the second inning for the Warriors (8-7). Maximus Pilkington tallied two hits for Valley Tech and teammates Luke Charron and Dylan Brady combined to allow a run on three hits over six innings for the Beavers (12-4).

DOUGLAS 4, Hopedale 3: Nathan Montville had a double and RBI, and Noah Smith (hit) scored twice for the Blue Raiders (11-5, 6-1).

NASHOBA 4, Marlborough 1: Dylan Romano drove in a run for the Panthers (7-8, 4-6 Mid-Wach B) in the fifth.

FRAMINGHAM 10, Natick 7: Lucas Messer drove in four runs and had two doubles among his three hits for the Flyers. Framingham's Jace Coleman added two hits and scored two runs with an RBI. Jack Byrne doubled and tripled with two RBIs for Natick, while Jack Wierman singled twice and drove in a run.

Softball

TRI-COUNTY 14, Old Colony 2: Elle Marshall contributed two hits and two RBIs and earned the win on the mound for the Cougars (11-3). Nicole Ayre drove in three RBIs, Ava Cossette stole five bases, Mackenzie Duffy drove in two runs and Neila Scheitzer stole four bases and had two RBIs, as they each dropped in a hit.

DEDHAM 5, Medway 4: Katie Anderson hit her seventh home run of the season on a 2-for-4 day for the Mustangs (9-4, 8-4 TVL). Medway's Priya Bedard and Gracie Delucia added an RBI each.

AMSA 12, Assabet 0: Ava McLeod struck out 14 for the Eagles (11-2, 6-1 Colonial), allowing two hits and two walks. AMSA's Kathleen Galvin was 4-for-4 with a double, bringing in two runs and scoring three. Mariah Sousa registered both hits for Assabet (3-8, 0-5).

NIPMUC 12, Blackstone Valley Tech 2: Kate Julian was 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs, Janelle Scirocco doubled and drove in three runs and Brynn DiAnni and Keegan Kelley (2 doubles) each had three hits and drove in a run for the Warriors (13-1). Brooke Gniadek (double) and Ella Foster each had two hits and drove in a run for the Beavers (5-9).

HOPEDALE 9, Douglas 4: Lizzie Brytowski went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Kelsey Evans added two hits, an RBI and a run for the Blue Raiders (14-1, 8-0 Dual Valley).

Boys lacrosse

MEDWAY 16, Dedham 7: Gavin Shipos scored six goals with an assist for the Mustangs (7-7, 6-6 TVL). Medway's Drew McCarthy won 19-of-20 faceoffs, while Colin Towle contributed five points with three goals and two assists. Zach Arnpriester (assist) and Matt Plante (two assists) found the net twice each.

FRANLIN 15, Oliver Ames 0: Dylan McEvoy put away four goals with two assists for the Panthers. Franklin's Drew Hansen (two goals, two assists) and Ben Paterson (goal, three assists) contributed four points each.

NASHOBA 11, Marlborough 2: Catherine Seay hit a solo home run in the seventh for the Panthers (8-5, 6-4).

AMSA 15, Assabet 3: Andrew McCabe scored five goals, Casey Matijevic chipped in three goals and Jeremy Reed had his first career varsity goal for the Eagles (11-2, 5-1 Colonial).

HOPKINTON 12, Holliston 10: Logan DelPonte put away five goals with two assists for the Hillers. Hopkinton's Matt Lotti found the net four times. The victory was the 100th of coach Dan Norton's Hillers career.

Girls lacrosse

WESTWOOD 16, Ashland 7: Anna Magennis scored a hat trick with an assist for Ashland (11-5, 8-4 TVL) in a loss to the perennial power Wolverines. Ashland's Julia Schreiber added two goals, while Paige Tripp (assist) and Morgan Dubanowitz each found the net once.

HOLLISTON 13, Hopkinton 6: Amelia Laingene saved 12 shots for the Panthers. Holliston's Ava Lombardo added four goals, while Andersen Hastings put away three. Kaitlyn Quealy controlled eight draws for the Panthers (5-8, 5-6 TVL).

Boys volleyball

KEEFE TECH 3, Worcester Tech 0: Logan Greenlaw put down eight kills, and C.J. Sok had seven kills for the Broncos (15-1), who won 25-6, 25-15, 25-15. Keefe Tech's Bryan Costa contributed seven aces and four kills.

Girls tennis

MILLIS 4, Norton 1: Millis junior Liv Fong cruised at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Amelia Staples added a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2. Millis (6-5, 5-4 TVL) swept the doubles positions. Addy Loer and Tessa Molinari won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1, and Izzy Doherty and Tessa O'Toole prevailed 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2.

HOPEDALE 5, Whitinsville Christian 0: Pia Obrador led the way for the Blue raiders (8-2, 3-1 Dual Valley) with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Ally Weedon at No. 1 singles. Hopedale's No. 2 Sidney Hal beat Charlotte DeFrancisco 6-2, 6-4, and Madison Buttono prevailed 6-3, 6-3 over Joanna Garves at No. 3. The Blue Raiders swept the doubles points. Abbie Aldrich and Gabriella Rinehart defeated Mia Besong and Julia Gibbons 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1.

HUDSON 3, Milford 2: Vivian Weatherbee ensured a victory for the Hawks with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Audrey Brannigan at No. 3 singles. Hudson's Sophia Charbonneau bested Ava Merill 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, and the Hawks (11-3) top doubles team of Lauren Shurling and Gracie Garcia beat Chloe Murdock and Sam DeNegris 6-1, 6-1. Milford's Mallory Brickley prevailed 6-2, 6-4 over Janie Brunelle at No. 1 singles, and the Scarlet Hawks No. 2 doubles team Lily Bogonis and Riley Donovan won 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 against Taylor Coyne and Sophia Barter.

WELLESLEY 5, Newton North 0: The Raiders (12-1) swept the doubles points. Shea and Shannon Welburn prevailed 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1, while Wellesley's No. 2 pair of Sari Hart and Mina Chung won 6-4, 6-1.

Boys track and field

STATE VOCATIONAL SMALL SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS: Keefe Tech's Jack Donahue took sixth in the javelin at 119-02 and Declan Regan placed sixth in the mile (5:10.31).

Girls golf

HOPKINTON 24.5, Quabbin 23.5: Hopkinton's Leah Hong earned the co-medalist honors with a 47, as the Hillers (8-4-1) qualified for the sectional tournament with the victory,
