Who is the H.S. Athlete of the Week for May 6-12?

Another week of the spring high school sports season has come and gone in the Greater Taunton area.

Last week, Taunton baseball avenged their earlier loss to Franklin while Dighton-Rehoboth softball no hit Bishop Feehan, a few Taunton boy and girls track and field athletes scored wins at the MSTCA Twilight Invitational, Dighton-Rehoboth boys tennis swept Case, while Bridgewater-Raynham boys and girls tennis both swept Brockton and Bristol-Plymouth boys lacrosse scored some key league wins.

The Taunton Daily Gazette Athlete of the Week for April 29-May 5 is Bridgewater-Raynham boys track's Joey Brand, receiving 37% of the vote. Bridgewater-Raynham softball's Taylor Reid came in second with 29% while Bristol-Plymouth boys lacrosse's James Dolan received 15% to finish third.

Baseball

Caden Lindskog, Taunton

Lindskog tossed three shutout innings giving up a pair of hits and a walk while striking out two and went 2-for-2 with three runs and a pair of walks against Foxboro.

Bobby Quill, Bridgewater-Raynham

Quill went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and three runs against Durfee.

Brayden Alves, Bristol-Plymouth

Alves tossed all seven shutout innings giving up just a hit and three walks while striking out six and went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, three runs and three RBIs at the plate against Tri-County.

Ben Miller, Dighton-Rehoboth

Miller tossed a complete game shutout giving up four hits and three walks while striking out eight and went 3-for-4 with a run at the plate against Case.

Softball

Brooke Aldrich, Taunton

Aldrich went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs and a pair of RBIs against Foxboro.

Olivia Roy, Bridgewater-Raynham

Roy went 2-for-6 with a pair of RBIs, including a walk-off single, against Dartmouth.

Emma Coxall, Bristol-Plymouth

Coxall went 3-for-3 with a triple, a pair of runs and five RBIs against Blue Hills.

Edy Latour, Dighton-Rehoboth

Latour tossed a no-hitter, going all five innings giving up three walks while striking out seven and went 1-for-2 at the plate against Bishop Feehan.

Boys Lacrosse

Jose Touron, Taunton

Touron had four goals against New Bedford.

Jayson Kelleher, Bridgewater-Raynham

Kelleher had a pair of goals against Marshfield.

Jake Lamontagne, Bristol-Plymouth

Lamontagne had four goals and five assists against Tri-County.

Jack Swan, Dighton-Rehoboth

Swan scored all four goals unassisted against Old Rochester.

Girls Lacrosse

Cali Melo, Taunton

Melo four goals, four assists and 10 draws against New Bedford.

Claire Fitzsimmons, Bridgewater-Raynham

Fitzsimmons had a hat trick and an assist against Dartmouth.

Karina Bosco, Dighton-Rehoboth

Bosco had five goals and three draws against Middleboro.

Boys Tennis

Spencer Jones, Dighton-Rehoboth

Jones won second singles 6-0, 6-0 against Case.

Girls Tennis

Sarah Riveiro, Taunton

Riveiro won first singles 6-0, 6-0 against Foxboro.

Nicole Kimball, Bridgewater-Raynham

Kimball won first singles 6-0, 6-0 against Brockton.

Boys Track and Field

Ancil Alexander, Taunton

Alexander won the shot put with a personal best throw of 51'9"and the discus with a personal best throw of 173'2" at the MSTCA Twilight Invitational.

Jack Alves, Bridgewater-Raynham

Alves finished fifth in the pole vault with a height of 10' at the MSTCA Twilight Invitational.

Girls Track and Field

Emersyn DePonte, Taunton

DePonte won the 800 meter with a personal best time of 2:17 at the MSTCA Twilight Invitational.

Boys Volleyball

Travis Johnson, Taunton

Johnson had 21 kills against Quincy.

Ian Hoskins, Dighton-Rehoboth

Hoskins had 14 kills against Attleboro.
