Guy Fieri's new Flavortown T-shirts represent each NFL team by their iconic foods. Here's what he put on the Packers shirt.
OK, serious question, Packers fans, because it involves football and food.
If you could put one food on a T-shirt that instantly illustrates what it is to be a Packers fan, what would you choose? (Remember, beer is a beverage.)
Would you go curds? Or would you go brat?
Guy Fieri went with both, because a) he’s Guy Fieri and b) how could any Packers fan with a game-day grease spot on their favorite jersey choose one over the other?
The celebrity chef and TV host has created a new line of T-shirts that represent each of the 32 NFL teams by a local flavor. His NFL x Flavortown T-shirt collection, in conjunction with Homage apparel and licensed by the NFL, launched on Wednesday. The green Packers shirt shows a bratwurst in a bun and a box of deep-fried curds. (Personally, we would’ve gone with a basket, but that's like arguing over white curds vs. yellow curds.)
"I’ve eaten my way around this country and let me tell you, if you ever find yourself somewhere wondering what team the locals are rootin’ for, just check out what they’re eatin’ on game day," Fieri said in a news release.
No arguments there. That’s why you’ll see deep dish pizza on the Chicago Bears T-shirt, buffalo wings for the Buffalo Bills, Rocky Mountain oysters for the Denver Broncos, Philly cheesesteak for the Philadelphia Eagles, a clam chowder bread bowl for the San Francisco 49ers and so on.
Just for fun, the Flavortown T-shirts are divided into four divisions: Fresh Catch, Deep-Fried, Handhelds and Grill Master. Not to brag, but it seems like the Packers eats could have easily slid into three of the four but they landed in the latter.
At least Green Bay doesn't have to share a signature food like the Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions, who are both representing Coney dogs.
The T-shirts are on sale for $38 in unisex adult sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, and 3XL at homage.com and nflshop.com. The designs are also available on hoodies, signs, socks, magnets and other merchandise.
Here’s the full list of T-shirt team flavors, in case you're curious, hungry or you just want to judge.
