On how Grant Williams’ father used to be Prince’s bodyguard

Boston Celtics reserve forward Grant Williams is a remarkable young man with elite strength, dangerous athleticism, an interest in leveraging his platform to help others as an NBA athlete, and an appreciation for all things nerdy.

So it should probably not surprise that his parents are quite interesting people as well, with his mother being a NASA scientist and his father, as he revealed in a recent interview on the Celtics Blog “First to the Floor” podcast, was once a bodyguard for one of the most famous pop stars of all time — Prince Rogers Nelson, better known to many as simply “Prince”.

To hear about that era of his life from the man himself, take a look at the clip embedded below as Gil Williams shares what it was like keeping the star of “Purple Rain” safe.
