Giants’ Kayvon Thibodeaux on Jeff Saturday: ‘I don’t know who he is’

New York Giants rookie outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux isn’t too concerned about what anyone thinks about him or his actions.

This past week, Thibodeaux took flak from around the league for his ‘snow angel’ celebration after sacking — and injuring — Indianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles.

Thibodeaux claims he did not know that Foles, who was writhing in pain next to him on the ground with bruised ribs, was hurt on the play. Few believe him, including Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday.

“Yeah, tasteless from the celebration afterward, just trash, not a fan of it at all,” Saturday said on Monday. “And yeah, disappointed from the O-line perspective and for teammates in general. We protect our own. I mean, y’all know me, man. I’ve been here a long time. So, I’m just gonna tread lightly. Obviously, I didn’t like it at all, and that’s where I’ll leave it.”

When Thibodeaux was made aware of Saturday’s remarks, he was coy about the situation.

“I don’t know who [Saturday] is. Anybody who comments on it, unless I know who they are, it doesn’t really affect me,” Thibodeaux said, via SNY.

Thibodeaux then asked out loud what people expect him to do after a sack.

“What am I supposed to do now? Every time I sack a quarterback, stop and look and help him up? You don’t play the game for anybody to get injured, but I play defense,” Thibodeaux said. “They brought me here to be a savage and take over the game and to impact the game. We preach that impacting the game is affecting the quarterback. That’s what I’m here to do.”

The event will likely get him to be more aware of his surroundings, which has probably been addressed behind the scenes. Let’s hope it doesn’t slow his roll, which has been an impressive one.”
