Georgia OL Sedrick Van Pran no longer on Senior Bowl roster

The 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl kicked off this week from Mobile, Alabama, as draft-eligible players compete in drills in front of NFL personnel before the week culminates with the annual scrimmage on Feb. 3.

Seven Georgia Bulldogs accepted invites to the event: center Sedrick Van Pran, wide receivers Ladd McConkey and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, running back Daijun Edwards, defensive backs Javon Bullard and Tykee Smith and long snapper William Mote.

Although he was initially listed on the roster, Van Pran’s name was removed on Monday due to an undisclosed reason. These decisions are usually made due to injury concerns or at the advice of the players’ representatives.

Van Pran’s exit will not likely hurt his chances at the 2024 NFL draft, which will be held from April 25-27 in Detroit.

Van Pran is considered one of the best center prospects in the draft class. He anchored Georgia’s offensive line for three seasons, winning back-to-back national championships in 2022 and 2022. He earned All-SEC first-team honors in 2023, along with the SEC Jacobs Blocking Trophy, given to the best offensive lineman in the conference.

Van Pran still has an opportunity to work out in front of league representatives at the NFL combine (Feb. 29-March 3) and Georgia’s pro day (March 13).
