George Karl says Nuggets should trade for LeBron James

With an 0-5 record, the Los Angeles Lakers are already teetering on the brink of disaster in the early going of the NBA season, at least in the minds of some fans and observers.

A portion of this contingent thinks the Lakers have failed to put enough support around LeBron James, and that they should blow it up and start over again.

Yes, that means these people think the Lakers should trade LeBron James. Never mind that he recently signed an extension to remain with the team through at least the 2023-24 season, and that owner Jeanie Buss would never even think about getting rid of a box-office superstar who always fills seats at Crypto.com Arena.

After the Denver Nuggets got past L.A. on Wednesday, George Karl, their former coach, went on Twitter to make a radical suggestion to his old team.

The Nuggets are considered by most to be contenders, as they possess two-time reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and a star guard in Jamal Murray who is back from an injured ACL. Yet, there is a feeling that they lack something to go all the way.

In theory, James could be that something, and then some. But there is no chance in hell he or the Lakers would ever consider something like this, at least not anytime soon.

It is also a fair question as to whether the Nuggets would even be interested, given James’ advanced age and humongous contract.
