Gators get a pair of defenders back, per Week 11 depth chart update

Florida football released its depth chart on Wednesday, as scheduled, and for once, the Gators seem to be getting healthier.

Starting nose tackle Cam Jackson and starting defensive end Tyreak Sapp each missed last week’s game against Arkansas, making things tougher on defense down linebacker Shemar James for the rest of the year. Fortunately, both Jackson and Sapp are off the injury report this week and are expected to start.

The only new addition to the list of injuries is edge rusher Jack Pyburn, who will miss the rest of the year. Wide receiver Caleb Douglas and tight end Jonothan Odom remained sidelined as well.

Getting two starting defensive linemen back is no small gain for the Gators, especially with LSU on the schedule. Florida already needed to be at full strength to have a chance at the upset, but the Tigers could be down a starting quarterback. UF’s defensive line could have and extra half-second with a backup in, and a half-second is everything in football.

There shouldn’t be too many changes to the depth chart at this point in the season, barring injury. Hopefully, Napier and Co. don’t have to deal with too many more of those.
