Gastonia, Shelby top performers: North Lincoln's Kellen Karr logs triple-double in win

Here is a daily list of the top performers from Cleveland, Gaston and Lincoln counties during the fourth week of winter sports action.

Boys basketball

Jackson Fannon, East Lincoln: Had a team-high 20 points and eight rebounds in an 80-37 win over Hibriten.

Houston Hartsell, East Lincoln: Had 11 points and seven assists.

Grant Lawless, East Lincoln: Scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.

Deshawn Coulter, Gaston Day: Had 17 points in an 89-61 win over Westchester Country Day.

Kurt Hunter, Gaston Day: Led the Spartans with 21 points.

Griffen Simpson, Gaston Day: Scored 11 points.

Braylen Todd, Gaston Day: Had 16 points.

Elijah Sherrill, Highland Tech: Had 26 points and six rebounds in a 67-28 win over Pinnacle Classical Academy.

Z-Man Gladden, Hunter Huss: Had 10 points in the Huskies’ 55-51 win over North Gaston.

Satchelle Pettis, Hunter Huss: Scored 13 points.

Zaiyir Phillips, Hunter Huss: Led his team with 17 points.

Jordan Floyd, Kings Mountain: Scored 10 points.

J’Myun Huskey, Kings Mountain: Scored 10 points in an 82-45 win over Stuart Cramer.

Caleb Nixon, Kings Mountain: Scored 12 points.

Tyler McClain, Lincolnton: Scored 10 points in a 77-47 win over Bunker Hill.

L.J. Smith, Lincolnton: Led his team with 27 points.

Tucker Robinette, Kings Mountain: Had 12 points.

Markell Carothers, North Gaston: Scored 16 points in a 55-51 loss to Hunter Huss

Girls basketball

Breanna McEntire, Crest: Had 11 points, six rebounds and four steals in a 63-48 win over Forestview.

Monica Surratt, Crest: Had 26 points, five rebounds and five steals.

Kiara Anderson, East Lincoln: Scored 10 points in a 59-48 loss to Hibriten.

Nevaeh Atkins, East Lincoln: Had 10 points.

Abbie Hege, East Lincoln: Earned a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds, along with five assists, two steals and a block.

Emma Montanari, East Lincoln: Scored 11 points.

Addie McCraw, Highland Tech: Earned a double-double with 13 points and 17 rebounds in a 45-32 win over Pinnacle Academy.

Alexa Taylor, Highland Tech: Had seven assists, 13 steals and seven rebounds.

Reese Thomas, Highland Tech: Earned a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Myla Hoover, Hunter Huss: Scored her 1,000th point as part of a 17-point, five-rebound performance in a 60-10 win over North Gaston.

Farri Martin, Kings Mountain: Had 11 points in a 70-27 loss to Stuart Cramer.

Lyric Brown, Piedmont Community Charter: Led her team with 14 points in a 45-42 win over Cherryville.

Lexi Birtwistle, South Point: Led her team with 14 points in a 40-34 win over Ashbrook.

Amya Graham, South Point: Earned a double-double with 11 points and 17 rebounds.

Oshauna Holland, Stuart Cramer: Earned a double-double with 23 points and 11 steals, along with five rebounds, five assists and two blocks in a 70-27 win over Kings Mountain.

Hadley Womack, Stuart Cramer: Had a team-high 25 points, six steals, five assists and two rebounds.

Wednesday, Dec. 13

Boys basketball

Tye Clay, Burns: Had a team-high 14 points in a 62-49 loss to Maiden.

Carson Engstrand, North Lincoln: Had 15 points and eight rebounds in the Knights’ 83-70 win over Statesville.

Kellen Karr, North Lincoln: Earned a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds, along with eight assists and two steals.

Tanner Lineberger, North Lincoln: Had 13 points and eight rebounds.

Ty Sanders, North Lincoln: Had 10 points and five rebounds.

Gideon Allen, West Lincoln: Had 14 points and seven rebounds in a 60-54 loss to Foard.

Mikalister Andersen, West Lincoln: Had 14 points.

Bryce Beddingfield, West Lincoln: Earned a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Girls basketball

Ashlyn Black, North Lincoln: Had 13 points in a 56-8 win over Statesville.

Addison Grice, North Lincoln: Scored 11 points.

Ally Smith, North Lincoln: Led her team with 14 points.

Boys basketball

Isaac Byers Jr., Ashbrook: Led his team with 19 points in a 53-52 win over East Lincoln.

Jamari Smith, Ashbrook: Scored 18 points.

Darrien Floyd, Cherryville: Led the Ironmen with 18 points in a 67-40 loss to Lincolnton.

John Michael Green, East Gaston: Led his team with 27 points in a 63-60 win over Olympic.

Trent Sherrill, East Gaston: Had 19 points.

Jackson Fannon, East Lincoln: Led the Mustangs with 20 points in a 53-52 loss to Ashbrook.

Elijah Sherrill, Highland Tech: Had 14 points and eight rebounds in a 48-37 loss to Sugar Creek.

Elijah Whitted, Highland Tech: Scored 12 points.

Bradley Floyd, Kings Mountain: Posted his second straight double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds in a 65-50 win over Shelby. The Mountaineers are 3-1.

Caleb Nixon, Kings Mountain: Scored 13 points.

Landen Lyerly, Lincolnton: Earned a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds in a 67-40 win over Cherryville. The Wolves are 6-0.

Tyler McClain, Lincolnton: Scored 10 points.

L.J. Smith, Lincolnton: Led his team with 16 points.

Kelan Flowers, Lincoln Charter: Scored 13 points in the Eagles’ 69-53 win over Community School of Davidson.

Cairo Morales, Lincoln Charter: Earned a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

David Reed IV, Lincoln Charter: Earned a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Luke Grooms, North Lincoln: Had 10 points in a 104-59 win over South Iredell.

Kellen Karr, North Lincoln: Earned a triple-double with 37 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists to go with six steals in the Knights’ 103-59 win over South Iredell.

Ty Sanders, North Lincoln: Scored 20 points.

Santana London, Shelby: Had 15 points in a 65-50 loss to Kings Mountain. The Golden Lions are 2-1.

Grady Morgan, Shelby: Led the Golden Lions with 17 points.

Graham Williams, South Point: Earned a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 48-47 win over Fort Mill (South Carolina).

Girls basketball

Kiara Anderson, East Lincoln: Led her team with 21 points, along with five assists and three steals in a 65-10 win over Ashbrook.

Emma Montanari, East Lincoln: Scored 18 points to go with nine steals, eight rebounds, five assists and three blocks.

Lane Pethel, East Lincoln: Had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Addie McCraw, Highland Tech: Earned a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds in a 50-18 win over Sugar Creek. The Rams are 7-1, matching their win total from the 2022-23 season.

Camellia Holland, Lincolnton: Scored 14 points in a 51-41 win over Cherryville.

Sarah Rhyne, Lincolnton: Scored 10 points.

Addison Grice, North Lincoln: Had 16 points and six rebounds in a 78-71 win over South Iredell.

Hailey Hagler, North Lincoln: Scored 12 points, along with seven assists and four rebounds.

Ally Smith, North Lincoln: Finished with 33 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists.

Dereon Kee, Shelby: Led all scorers with 12 points in the Lady Lions’ 39-34 win over Kings Mountain.

Amya Graham, South Point: Earned a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds in a 55-45 loss to Fort Mill (South Carolina).

Monday, Dec. 11

Boys basketball

Nate Bookout, Cherryville: Had 12 points, seven rebounds and five steals in a 63-48 win over North Gaston.

Andron Patterson, Cherryville: Had 14 points, nine rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Rayshawn Sewell, Cherryville: Had 14 points and five assists.

Elijah Sherrill, Highland Tech: Had 18 points and eight rebounds in a 63-48 loss at Bradford Prep.

Christian Petty, South Point: Had a team-high 18 points in an 84-66 loss to Catawba Ridge (Fort Mill, South Carolina).

Graham Williams, South Point: Earned a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Amari Littlejohn, Stuart Cramer: Scored a team-high 10 points in a 57-49 win over South Iredell.

Girls basketball

Kionna Pettus, Bessemer City: Earned a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds in a 56-41 loss to East Rutherford.

Imani Rhodes, Bessemer City: finished with eight points and 12 rebounds.

Krista Davis, Cherryville: Had 19 points and six rebounds in a 41-39 win over North Gaston.

Rylei Gidney, Cherryville: Had 13 points and 25 rebounds.

Addie McCraw, Highland Tech: Scored eight points to go with 13 rebounds in a 34-27 win over Bradford Prep.

Akela Taylor, Highland Tech: Had nine points, five rebounds, six assists and five steals.

Diamonique Jackson, North Gaston: Scored 11 points in a 41-39 loss to Cherryville.

Jakelia Littlejohn, North Gaston: Had a team-high 17 points.

Maddie Frank, South Point: Had 12 points in a 48-37 win over Catawba Ridge.

Amya Graham, South Point: Earned a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Oshauna Holland, Stuart Cramer: Had 23 points and seven rebounds.

Hadley Womack, Stuart Cramer: Hit five 3-pointers on her way to a 28-point performance.
