Gadient leads group of five chosen to girls basketball All-State team

Mar. 18—Goodhue's Elisabeth Gadient leads a group of five southeastern Minnesota players who have been chosen All-State by the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association.

Gadient, a senior guard who led the Wildcats to a state championship Saturday, was chosen in Class 1A. Gadient has also been chosen as a top-six finalist for Miss Basketball.

Also selected All-State in Class 1A from southeastern Minnesota were Goodhue's Kendyl Lodermeier (junior forward) and Hayfield's Kristen Watson (senior guard) and Natalie Beaver (senior forward).

It was the third straight year that Watson and Beaver have been chosen.

In Class 3A, Stewartville's Audrey Shindelar was chosen All-State. Shindelar is a sophomore guard who helped guide her team to a fourth-place state finish.

A pack of southeastern Minnesota players were named honorable-mention All-State. They were: Grand Meadow's Lauren Queensland (Class 1A), Caledonia's Josie Foster and Aubrie Klug (2A), Winona Cotter's Clarissa Sauer (2A), Byron's Kendra Harvey (3A), Austin's Aijem Agwa (3A), Winona's Alivia Bell (3A), Mankato East's Macy Birkholz and Mayo's Ava Miller (4A).
