Friday's Top Prep Performers from soccer and basketball

Highlights from Friday in high school sports:

BOYS SOCCER

  • Pabel Ayala scored two goals, Justin Cruz had a goal and an assist, Franky Garibay and Ryan Escobedo had goals, Chris Carbajal and Gio Flores had assists, and Chris Miranda and Mariodavid Vega played well to lead Oxnard (3-1-0) to a 5-1 win over Hueneme.

  • Damian Renteria scored two goals, Benjamin Aguilar had a goal and Adrian Villanueva had an assist to lead Channel Islands to a 3-1 victory over Thousand Oaks.

  • Tyler Cash scored four goals, including a penalty kick, Ramir Ratoviz had a goal, Rastin Houshmand finished with two assists, and Nate Kapitz had an assist to lead Oak Park to a 5-3 victory over host Hesperia.

  • Graham Strople scored the game's only goal off assist by Nathan Lopez and Logan Torres had a strong game to lead Buena (3-0-1) to a 1-0 victory over visiting Camarillo.

  • Isaac Berini, Jaden Griffin, Owen Creed, Jhoan Blanco, Cruz Gonzalez and Brady Gabler scored goals to lead Newbury Park to a 6-0 victory over Simi Valley.

  • David Marmolejo converted a penalty kick with two minutes left in regulation and Elvis Lopez had a solid game on defense to help Rio Mesa (4-2-1) earn a 1-1 draw with Santa Paula.

  • Danny Medina and Jared Ramos scored goals and Jesus Angel Avila had two assists for Fillmore (2-1-2) in its 3-2 loss to Golden Valley.

  • Pacifica defeated Oaks Christian 2-0.

  • Grace Brethren lost 8-0 at Pasadena Poly.

GIRLS SOCCER

  • Alex Garcia and Lexi Kimble scored goals off assists by Kiana DuBransky and Amalia Nolan to lead Buena (2-0-0) to a 2-1 victory over host Camarillo. Courtney Hogan scored a goal off an assist from Alie Schnopp for the Scorpions.

  • Kaitlyn Wright netted a hat trick and assisted Emerson McMeekin's goal to help Ventura earn a 4-4 draw with Moorpark.

  • Ashley Hernandez scored the match’s only goal off an assist from Marlene Gonzalez and Gabriela Martinez posted the shutout in net to lead Fillmore to a 1-0 victory over St. Bonaventure.

  • Taylor Ikenouye and Ashlyn Francis scored goals and Addison Cho and Priya Torres had assists for Grace Brethren in its 3-2 loss to visiting Capistrano Valley.

  • Calabasas defeated San Marcos to improve to 2-0-0 on the season.

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • Ryder Mjoen poured in 32 points and Justin Rener scored 24 points to lead Simi Valley to a 58-52 win over Oaks Christian in the Bob Hawkins Showcase at Simi Valley High. Stevie Prudholme scored 16 points, Isayah Garcia had 11 points and six assists, and Troy McGovern had nine points for the Lions.

  • Ethan Klopp scored 24 points, DJ Jacob finished with 20 points and Elai Segev added nine points to lead Agoura to a 69-46 victory over Ventura in the Bob Hawkins Showcase at Simi Valley High.

  • Kayden Elsokary finished with 19 points and four assists, Austin Maziasz had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Danny Bao had 10 points and six rebounds for Westlake (5-2) in its 66-59 loss to Chaminade in the Bob Hawkins Showcase at Simi Valley High.

  • Seshsha Henderson scored 13 points and Mateo Nicholas had eight points for Oak Park (5-3) in its 69-52 loss to Clovis West in the Bob Hawkins Showcase at Simi Valley High.

  • Evan Dela Paz scored 15 points, Josh Castaniero and Tyler Hook each finished with 10 points, Spencer Clausen had nine points, and Ty Chisholm added eight points to lead Camarillo (5-3) to a 57-45 victory over San Marcos on the second day of the 80th annual Nordhoff High Tournament. The Scorpions will play Rio Mesa in the tournament championship game Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

  • Jackson Knowles poured in 30 points and had seven rebounds, five steals and three assists, Rodney Adams Jr. finished with eight points, eight rebounds and three steals, and Rohan Stankey had eight points and nine rebounds to lead Rio Mesa (4-1) to a 73-28 win over Fillmore on the second day of the 80th annual Nordhoff High Tournament. Isaac Weslow had 12 points, four rebounds and two assists and Jaimie Soto added six points for the Flashes (1-5).

  • Aidan Dike had six points and four rebounds, Kayden Bruchey had five points and three rebounds, and Josh Jackson grabbed eight rebounds for Nordhoff in its 41-23 loss to Cate on the second day of the 80th annual Nordhoff High Tournament.

  • Nathaniel Gomez finished with 17 points and nine rebounds, Marcos Ramirez had 12 points, six assists and three steals, David Giron had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Matthew Samaan scored 10 points to lead Oxnard (6-1) to a 56-47 victory over Moorpark in a nonleague game. Levi Oakes had 17 points and five rebounds, Tyson Howarth had 12 points and six rebounds, and Jay Massa added eight points for the Musketeers.

  • Will Friel had 18 points and eight rebounds, Carter Reid contributed 16 points and seven rebounds, and Carson Obringer grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Hillcrest Christian to a 67-33 victory over Villanova Prep in a season opener.

  • Thacher defeated Grace Brethren 60-49.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

  • Karisma Lewis finished with 16 points, six steals and four assists, Skye Thomas had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Olivia Decierdo contributed six points, five assists and five steals to lead Buena to a 61-34 victory over Santa Paula. Aryanna Lopez scored 19 points to lead the Cardinals.

  • Emerson Martin scored 23 points, Christa Contreras had 11 points, Daniela Rocha contributed nine points, and Addison Moody added eight points to lead host Camarillo (5-1) to a 61-17 victory over Pacifica.

  • Sara Cosio had 18 points and 10 assists, Bella Rico scored 18 points, Sophia Fernandez had 13 points, and Mariah Bernal added eight points and eight rebounds to lead St. Bonaventure (2-2) to a 76-15 victory over Paraclete.

  • Kierabella Coletta-Todd had 22 points and 15 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season, Skylar Komatsu finished with 15 points, Kimiko Carmer had 10 points, five rebounds, four steals and two blocks, Greta Heath had nine points, 13 rebounds, three assists and two steals, and Kai Mekari added four points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals to lead Newbury Park to a 60-26 victory over Moorpark.

  • Oaks Christian lost to Granada Hills 54-46.
