Friday's Top Prep Performers: Four-way tie for first in Coastal Canyon League

Highlights from Friday in high school sports:

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • Jadon Holmes scored 16 points, Seshsha Henderson had 11 points and five rebounds, and Aaron Huggins finished with 10 points and seven rebounds as Oak Park (15-8, 3-2) defeated Simi Valley 52-44 to forge a four-way tie for first place in the Coastal Canyon League. Justin Rener scored 12 points, Kyle Hoffer had 11 points and seven assists, and Ryder Sharts added six points and five rebounds for the Pioneers (15-10, 3-2).

  • Tyler Hook scored a game-high 20 points, Spencer Clausen had 14 points, Evan Dela Paz had nine points, and Jackson Yeats added seven points as Camarillo (15-9, 3-2) defeated Moorpark 55-52 to earn a piece of first place in the Coastal Canyon League. Levi Oakes had 17 points and six rebounds, Tyson Howarth and JJ Ward each scored 11 points, and AJ Mai had nine points for the Musketeers (8-15, 3-2).

  • Marcos Ramirez finished with 25 points, seven assists and four steals, Nathaniel Gomez had 17 points and eight rebounds, David Giron had 10 points and seven rebounds, and Bryce Foster scored eight points as Oxnard (19-4, 9-0) defeated San Marcos 67-56 in a Channel League game for its 54th straight league victory. The league winning streak is the third longest in Ventura County boys basketball history. The record is 91 by Santa Clara, which lasted from 1985 to 1995.

  • Caleb Sebek had 22 points and six rebounds, Travis Valenzuela finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and six assists, Harper Martinez scored eight points, Parsa Kamali had seven points and five assists, and Jaden Ginsberg contributed seven points to lead Ventura (7-13, 6-3) to a 71-43 victory over Pacifica (7-16, 0-9) in a Channel League game.

  • Jackson Knowles scored 22 points, Rodney Adams Jr. followed with 21 points, John Moreno had 13 points, and Owen Ousley added eight points to lead Rio Mesa (7-14, 3-6) to a 71-59 victory over Dos Pueblos in a Channel League game.

  • Jayden Iyer scored 14 points and Josh Ullegue and Trevor McCormick each had 11 points for Buena (9-13, 3-6) in its 70-46 loss to Santa Barbara in a Channel League game.

  • JD Pettit finished with 31 points, 20 rebounds and two steals, Mark Perez had eight points and three assists, Julian Espinoza contributed five points, four assists and three steals, Adrian Jimenez had five points and four assists, and Jayden Ramirez added five points to lead Santa Clara (9-11, 2-2) to a 62-46 win over Cate in a Tri-Valley League game.

  • Ashton Brown scored 15 points and Luigirey Guce had 13 points to lead Foothill Tech (11-11, 3-1) to a 69-20 victory over Villanova Prep in a Frontier League game.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

  • Mathis Dritz scored 20 points, Devin Feiereisen had 16 points, Taylor Swanson had 13 points, and Emma Ange had 12 points to lead first-place Westlake (12-6, 5-0) to a 65-28 victory over Oaks Christian in a Marmonte League game. Sanjana Dharmakumar scored 11 points and Andrea Woodward had 10 points for the Lions (6-15, 1-4).

  • Kira Jones hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 12 seconds left and finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, Ava Seeger had nine points and six rebounds, Amanda Wang had eight points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals, Jaelah Brown had seven points and eight rebounds, Morgan Casillas added five points, and Hailey Lauritzen blocked four shots to lead Thousand Oaks (10-12, 3-2) to a 49-48 win over Newbury Park (20-3, 3-2) in a Marmonte League game.

  • Jocelynn Townsend scored 17 points, Emily Abramovitch and Scarlett Weiner each had 15 points, and Maddy Tauro added eight points to lead Calabasas (8-11, 3-2) to a 65-26 win over Agoura (1-20, 0-5) in a Marmonte League game.

  • Lindsay Gould hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 30 points, Maya Deshautelle scored 19 points, and Delaney White hit four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points as first-place Oak Park (12-7, 5-0) remained perfect in the Coastal Canyon League with a 77-39 victory over Simi Valley.

  • Daniela Rocha finished with 22 points, four steals and three assists, Christa Contreras had 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Emerson Martin contributed 15 points, seven rebounds and six steals, and Elizabeth Rocha added seven points, three rebounds and two steals to lead second-place Camarillo (17-6, 4-1) to a 73-31 victory over Moorpark (8-8, 1-4) in a Coastal Canyon League game.

  • Aryanna Lopez scored 17 points, Alyssa Garcia had nine points, Alyse Ramirez finished with eight points, four rebounds and three steals, Jalynn Rico contributed eight points, seven assists and five steals, and Madilyn Stonebraker had five points, 11 rebounds and six blocks to lead first-place Santa Paula (15-8, 8-0) to a 53-1 win over Fillmore in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Jocelyn Martinez had 10 points and six rebounds, LeShelle Lee scored seven points, Giovanna Martinez finished with nine rebounds, four assists and three steals, and Isabella Cerda added five points for Channel Islands in its 45-29 loss to Carpinteria in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Charles Chowana scored two goals, Oliver Gonzalez, Miles Johnson, Tyler Cash and Artun Vance had goals, Evan Ziglari finished with two assists, and Dylan Glowaski had an assist to lead Oak Park (10-1-1, 4-0-1) to a 6-1 victory over Simi Valley (3-12-1, 0-4-1) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Mattheo Sipaque scored a goal and Armando Acevedo had the golden goal in the second overtime to lift Moorpark (9-7-3, 3-1-1) to a 2-1 win over Camarillo (7-9-2, 2-3) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Uziel Diaz finished with a hat trick to lift Thousand Oaks (8-7-2, 3-1-1) to a 3-1 victory over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League match. Dragen Vrataric scored a goal off an assist from Bohdie Ing for the Panthers (7-7-2, 2-1-2).

  • Agoura (7-3-3, 4-0-1) remained unbeaten in Marmonte League after playing Calabasas (6-1-3, 2-1-2) to a 0-0 draw.

  • Manny Ocampo, Eddie Flores, Troy Mishkanian and Zach Shayne scored goals to lead Westlake (8-4-2, 1-3-1) to a 4-3 victory over Oaks Christian (2-9-0, 0-5) in a Marmonte League match.

  • Benjamin Aguilar had a goal and an assist, Adrian Villanueva and Cruz Perez scored goals, and Leo Mateos had an assist to lead Channel Islands (10-2-2, 5-1-1) to a 3-0 victory over Carpinteria in a Citrus Coast League match.

  • Isaac Salgado and Sebastian Magana scored goals and Luis Damian and Joseph Meza had assists to lead Santa Paula (10-5-2, 6-1) to a 2-0 victory over Fillmore (4-6-6, 2-3-2) in a Citrus Coast League match.

GIRLS SOCCER

  • Scarlette Druian’s equalizer in second-half stoppage time to help Oaks Christian (9-2-3, 4-0-1) earn a 1-1 draw with Westlake in a Marmonte League match. Ava Bowers scored the goal off an assist from Layla Simon for the Warriors (9-1-2, 3-1-1), who snapped the Lions' 15-match winning streak in league play, which dated back to 2022.

  • Livia Ivie scored two goals, Tessa Balm and Hannah Thompson had assists, and Nadia Rosa posted the shutout in net to lead Agoura (2-8-1, 1-3-1) to a 2-0 victory over Calabasas (8-6-3, 0-5) in a Marmonte League match.

  • Sienna Meyer scored the goal off an assist from Ruby Stimer for Newbury Park (6-4-2, 1-2-2) and Maddie Linville had the goal for Thousand Oaks (8-1-2, 3-1-1) in the teams' 1-1 draw in a Marmonte League match.

  • Jessie Shepherd, Mackenzie Gwin, Aleiyah Schexnayder and Lauren Mitra scored goals and Brianna Ellis, Courtney Hogan and Maddie Lovato had assists to lead Camarillo (6-4-1, 4-1) to a 4-1 victory over Moorpark (6-5-1, 4-1) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Malea Johnson scored the game's only goal to lift Oak Park (8-4-2, 3-2) to a 1-0 win over Simi Valley (8-5-1, 0-4-1) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Natalie Ruiz and Jackie Corral each scored two goals, Daniella Cervantes had a goal and an assist, and Joscelin Lopez, Natalie Casas and Amy Yañez had assists to lead Hueneme (6-5-0, 5-3) to a 5-0 victory over Nordhoff in a Citrus Coast League match.

  • Anayah Davis, Lupita Cisneros and Yaraby Herrera scored goals as Santa Paula (11-3-2, 8-0) rallied from a 2-0 deficit with 16 minutes left to play to earn a 3-2 victory over Fillmore and stay unbeaten in the Citrus Coast League. Karissa Terrazas and Fatima Alvarado scored goals for the Flashes (7-3-0, 5-2).

GIRLS WATER POLO

  • Santa Paula (13-6) defeated Moorpark 17-6 and lost to Cajon 7-5 on the first day of the Buena Tournament. In the win, Lindsey Ramirez finished with 10 goals, three assists and two steals and Juliana Magana had three goals and seven steals. In the loss, Ramirez had three goals, four drawn ejections, two steals and an assist and Deana Soto had a goal, an assist and five drawn ejections.
