BASEBALL
Kaukauna 6, Hortonville 5
HORTONVILLE - The Ghosts plated a run in the top of the 13th inning and made it stand as Zander Leick pitched the final three innings to earn the win. He walked three and struck out two, but did not allow a hit.
Leick was 4-for-5 for the Ghosts. Jacob Fritz went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI, and Drew Luckow was 3-for-6 with an RBI. Adding two hits for the Ghosts was Owen Jenkins.
Hortonville scored single runs in the first and third before Kaukauna answered with one run in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth. The Polar Bears tied the game at 4-4 with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. After both teams plated a run in the eighth, the game stayed tied until the 13th.
Kameron Chronis had four hits, including a double, for Hortonville, while Rashaud Kastner and Taiven Gass had two hits each.
Appleton North 4, Fond du Lac 2
FOND DU LAC - Logan Hudson pitched a complete game to lead the Lightning to the victory over the Cardinals.
Hudson did not allow an earned run and struck out four.
Levi Watts and Nick Bergin both had two hits for North. Isaac Schultz had a double and two RBI.
The Lightning improves to 10-1 in the Fox Valley Association and 12-2 overall.
Appleton East 13, Oshkosh West 0
OSHKOSH - Jackson Bines-Sabrowsky, Danny Dieck and Rylan Winkler combined for seven hits to lead the Patriots to the win over the Wildcats.
Bines-Sabrowsky had three hits, including a triple, scored three runs and drove in two. Dieck had two hits, including a double, scored twice and drove in two runs. Winkler had two hits and two RBI.
Cade Prestigiacomo pitched five innings of two-hit ball to get the win for Appleton East. He walked one and struck out three.
Appleton West 8, Oshkosh North 2
OSHKOSH - The Terrors scored six runs in the sixth inning to break a 2-2 deadlock in the win over the Spartans.
Appleton West evens its Fox Valley Association record at 5-5 with the win.
Oshkosh North falls to 1-9.
Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Freedom 0
FREEDOM - Lincoln Thede was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI as the Foxes topped the Irish in North Eastern Conference action.
James Heimerl picked up the win on the mound, going all seven innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out five.
Drew Kortz and Chase Calmes had hits for Freedom.
FVL moves to 8-3 in NEC action and 9-7 overall, while Freedom falls to 6-7 and 10-9.
Wrightstown 5, Oconto Falls 2
OCONTO FALLS - The Tigers scored three runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Panthers.
Trevor Vande Hey had two hits for Wrightstown, while Landon Helphrey drove in two runs. Aiden Humphreys had a double.
Wyatt Laughrin had a double for Oconto Falls.
Jack Severson pitched the seventh and eighth innings to get the win for Wrightstown.
Humphreys pitched the first five innings, shutting out Oconto Falls on two hits and two walks while striking out seven.
Jacob Durocher gave up two runs in the sixth for Wrightstown.
Jack Adler took the loss for Oconto Falls.
Denmark 5, Waupaca 2
WAUPACA - The Vikings’ Jaycob Dittmer allowed one earned run on five hits in pitching a complete game and leading Denmark to the win over the Comets.
Dittmer, who struck out eight, also had three hits, including two doubles, and two runs batted in for Denmark (11-3 overall, 9-2 NEC).
Riley Bechard and Henry Williams had a triple and double, respectively, for Waupaca.
Little Chute 2, Marinette 0
MARINETTE - The Mustangs scored runs in the first and seventh innings to defeat the Marines.
Little Chute is now 11-2 overall and 10-2 and in first place in the North Eastern Conference.
Marinette is 3-9 in conference play.
St. Mary Catholic 8, St. Mary’s Springs 1
FOX CROSSING - The Zephyrs scored three runs in both the third and fourth innings in the win over the Ledgers.
Fisher Mackenzie, Colin Nigl and Aidan Birling each had two hits for St. Mary Catholic with Nigl, Mackenzie and Joseph Pirillo each collecting a double.
Nigl drove in three runs, while Mason Wagner drove in two.
Nigl pitched a complete game for St. Mary Catholic, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out seven.
Maxwell Sadownikow took the loss for St. Mary’s Springs.
Manitowoc 16, Winneconne 13
MANITOWOC - The Ships and Wolves combined for 29 hits in the nonconference game.
SOFTBALL
Kimberly 7, Appleton North 6
KIMBERLY - Kathryn VanHandel was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored as the Papermakers slipped past the Lightning in Fox Valley Association action.
Bella Elstead earned the win in the circle, while Ella Nissen took the loss.
Freedom 2, Oconto Falls 0
FREEDOM - Peyton VandeLoo struck out 16 and allowed just three hits in the complete-game victory for the Irish.
The win improves Freedom to 12-3 overall and 12-1 in the North Eastern Conference.
Carrington Klug had two hits and two stolen bases to lead the Irish offense.
Josie Holtz had two hits to lead Oconto Falls (8-6, 8-5).
Menasha 13, Appleton West 0
APPLETON - The Bluejays scored one run in the second, seven in the third and five in the fifth to cruise to the nonconference win.
Addie Lund doubled, homered and drove in three runs. Taylor Papendorf was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored. Gabrielle Farr was 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Eve Rausch was 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead Menasha.
Farr earned the win, pitching four innings, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out five.
St. Mary Catholic 12, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 1
WITTENBERG - The Zephyrs scored five runs in the second inning and five in the fifth in the nonconference win over the Chargers in five innings.
Nevaeh Saringer pitched all five innings for the win. She allowed four hits, an unearned run and struck out five.
Adel Schneider, Rhiannon Reichenbacher and Ainslie Liddy each had three hits for SMC. Schneider scored four runs and had two RBI, Reichenbacher had two RBI and Liddy also scored twice. Sammi Weiss added two hits, including a double, and two RBI and Saringer drove in three runs.
The Zephyrs are now 9-8 overall.

Wineconne’s Cody McLeod won the 100-meter dash with a time of :11.01 and the 200-meter dash with a time of :22.54. McLeod was also part of Winneconne’s winning 400-meter relay team with Brady Immel, Jack Quigley and Ryan Curran, winning with a time of :43.91. Ben Harmon won the 400 with a time of :51.26 and joined Silas Sarbo, Reid Cross and Beau Gilbert to win the 3,200 relay with a time of 8:30.83. Harmon also won the long jump with a jump of 21-1.5.
Notre Dame’s Joseph Hunt won the 1,600 and 3,200 with times of 4:29.53 and 9:50.78. respectively. James Flanigan won the shot put with a put of 55-0.25 and the discus with a throw of 178-6.
Freedom’s Nolan Phillips, Noah Heinke, Nixon Heinke and Andrew Sowinski won the 800 relay with a time of 1:32.97. The Heinkes teamed with Aaron Hambel and Jack Bonnet to win the 1,600 relay with a time of 3:28.27.

Freedom’s Lydia Merrick won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of :46.39. Merrick, Gracie Martzahl, Clair Helmila and Leigh DeWitt took first in the 1,600 relay with a time of 4:02.69. Martzahl won the 400-meter dash with a time of :59.59.
Notre Dame’s Danika Apple took first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times of :12.02 and :25.38, respectively. Apple, along with Sydney Whitehouse, Madeline Rose and Julia Nolle, won the 400-meter relay with a time of :49.83.

De Pere’s Casey Trousil took first place in both the 400-meter dash with a time of :50.68 and the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.45. Trousil, along with Bryce Bougie, Chase Deshazer and Enoch Thielhelm, teamed up to win the 3,200 relay in 8:11.21.
Kimberly’s Hunter Sprangers won the shot put and discus with a put of 58-2 and a throw of 179-10.
Shawano’s Will Chelberg won the 1,600 and 3,200 with times of 4:26.24 and 9:49.12, respectively.

Bay Port’s Mckenna Sedlacek won the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times of :12.55 and :26.43, respectively.
Shawano’s Adalyn Barkley won the 400-meter dash with a time of :59.79. Barkley and teammates Maci Beyer, Grace Chelberg and Tela Hopfesperger teamed up to win the 1,600 relay in 4:11.06.
Kaukauna’s Amber Gerrits won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of :15.00. She and teammates Sophie Mader, Macy Hartjes and Ava Hammen won the 800 relay in 1:46.70.

St. Mary Catholic’s Ashton Post won the pole vault at a height of 11-0 and the 200-meter dash with a time of :24.26. Post, Maddox Dwyer, Daniel Harness and Harry Higgins won the 400-meter relay with a time of :46.01. The same quartet won the 800 relay with a time of 1:34.90. Harness picked up a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of :11.77. Nathan Seiske won the 800 with a time of 2:07.84. He teamed with Ethan Auer, Jacob Hall and Benjamin Schoeni to win the 3,200 relay in 9:18.66.
Gibraltar’s Braden Sitte won the long jump with a jump of 19-1.5 and the high jump at a height of 6-2.

St. Mary Catholic’s Lauren Ripley won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.39 and the 1,600 in 5:28.57. Ripley teamed with Addison Dinka, Maria Mari and Claire Higgins to win the 1,600 relay in 4:17.21.
McKailey Reisen of Gibraltar won the high jump at a height of 4-11 and the 100-meter hurdles with a time of :16.75.
NEW Lutheran's Izzy Payne picked up a pair of first-place finishes, winning the 100 with a time of :13.63 and the 200 with a time of :27.57.

Burleton took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of :13.29. Emma Nilson won the shot put with a put of 39-10 and the discus with a throw of 123-0.

EAU CLAIRE - The Papermakers scored twice in the second half for the victory in the opening game of the Lori Bembnister Memorial Invite.
Senah Hanes gave Kimberly a 1-0 lead with the assist going to Brenna Wilson. Wilson made it 2-0 with an assist from Skyler Brey.
