Division 1

Kimberly 14, Neenah 7

KIMBERLY – Braedon Ellefson had a 29-yard touchdown pass and a 2-yard touchdown run in leading the Papermakers to the state quarterfinal win over the Rockets at Papermaker Stadium.

Grant Dean had an 8-yard touchdown reception from Ashton Van Beek in the fourth quarter and he also had a chance to possibly tie the game in the closing seconds of regulation but couldn’t haul in a pass near the goal line from Van Beek. Dean finished with 110 yards on 32 carries for Neenah (9-3).

Gavin Tyson had 70 yards on 13 carries to pace Kimberly, which also got 57 yards on 13 carries from Marcus Doucette. Vieth also had 79 yards on five catches for the Papermakers (10-1), including the 29-yard touchdown pass from Ellefson.

The Papermakers defense had a pair of interceptions and also had two defensive stands inside its own 10 to turn away the Rockets.

Division 2

Kaukauna 42, Cedarburg 13

KAUKAUNA - The Ghosts returned two interceptions for touchdowns and the second-half kickoff for another one as they routed the Bulldogs in a state quarterfinal matchup.

Senior quarterback Finnley Doriot also completed 10 of his 15 passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns to senior wide receiver Nolan Hall.

The Ghosts took the lead on a 12-yard run by senior running back Connor Kincheloe with 6:51 left in the first quarter. After Cedarburg answered to tie it at 7-7, Kaukauna was off and running as Doriot found Hall, who outraced the secondary for a 67-yard score and a 14-7 lead, one they would never relinquish.

Cedarburg again began to drive down the field, but John Neumann intercepted the ball off a deflection and darted 65 yards to give the Ghosts a commanding 21-7 advantage going into halftime.

Danny Poor II opened the second half with a 94-yard kickoff return and, less than a minute later, Luke Tetzlaff picked off another pass and raced 60 yards for the score and a 35-7 lead.

When Doriot found Hall for a 17-yard score with six minutes left in the third quarter, it was time for running clock.

The Ghosts will face Waunakee, a 49-13 winner over New Richmond, next Friday in a state semifinal matchup.

Division 3

Grafton 17, Menasha 13

GRAFTON - A berth in the state semifinals was looking good for the Menasha Bluejays after three quarters in their game against Grafton.

The Bluejays were up 13-3 but Grafton scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including the game-winner that came after a bad punt snap, to defeat the Bluejays.

Menasha took a 6-0 lead in the second quarter on a 17-yard run by Logan Liegl, with Grafton cutting the margin in half on a 26-yard field goal by Harrison Burke.

Liegl made it 13-3 for Menasha in the third quarter with a 3-yard run around the left end with just 13 seconds left in the period.

Grafton closed to within three with a 7-yard pass from Brady Hilgart to Ian Cornelius.

With under two minutes left on their own 45-yard line, Menasha was going to punt the ball. The snap snailed over the punter back to the 5-yard line, where Grafton recovered.

After two plays lost two yards for Grafton, Hilgart rolled to his right. The receiver on the left side slanted to the right in the end zone and then reversed field, heading left and taking the defenders with him.

Meanwhile, Grafton receiver Carson Hildebrand broke to the right corner of the end zone and was wide open to catch Hilgart’s pass for the winning touchdown.

Menasha finishes its season with a 9-3 record.

Fourth-seeded Grafton is 10-2 and will play seventh-seeded Stoughton in the semifinals.

Division 4

Luxemburg-Casco 24, Two Rivers 21

TWO RIVERS - The Spartans scored on a 25-yard pass play with 4:06 left in the game to rally for the victory over the Raiders.

Luxemburg-Casco led for much of the game until Two Rivers took the lead on 9- and 40-yard rushing touchdowns by Chase Matthias.

L-C had gone ahead 7-0 on a 6-yard touchdown run in the second period.

Five minutes later, Justin Klinker tied it with a 1-yard run.

Luxemburg-Casco had a 20-yard field goal and a 57-yard touchdown pass in a span of 1:22 in the third period to take a 17-7 lead, setting up the fourth quarter dramatics.

Luxemburg-Casco finished with 371 yards of offense while Two Rivers had 303.

Matthias carried the ball 16 times for 148 yards.

Luxemburg-Casco will play Catholic Memorial in Kewaskum in the Division 4 semifinals.

Lodi 28, Xavier 13

LODI - The Blue Devils scored three second-half touchdowns to pull away from the Hawks.

The teams were tied 7-7 at halftime on a touchdown pass from Mason Lane to Aiden Groskopf that covered 40 yards for Lodi and a 1-yard touchdown run by Reid Hietpas for Xavier.

Lodi took a 21-7 lead in the third quarter on a 5-yard run by Gavin Sargeant and a 55-yard run by Lane.

Xavier closed to within eight points in the fourth quarter when Reid Hietpas threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Cole Hietpas.

Lodi then closed out the scoring with a 29-yard touchdown run by Kylar Clemens with about two minutes remaining in the game.
