Kaukauna Cheesehead Invitational
KAUKAUNA - Host school Kaukauna finds itself in fifth place with 112.5 points after the first day of competition.
Southeast Polk is in first with 160 points. Joliet Catholic is in second with 147, followed by defending champion Simley and St. Charles East with 135.5 and 126.5 points, respectively.
Freedom is lodged in 12th place with 81.5 points while Wrightstown is 36th with 30.5 points.
The lone Kaukauna wrestler still in the running for a title is Lucas Peters, who won his first three matches at 132 pounds.
Freedom’s Patrick Moore won his first three matches to stay on track for a first-place finish at 175 pounds, as did Henry Vander Heiden at 215 pounds.

APPLETON – Five Voyageurs scored as De Pere outshot Appleton 38-18 en route to the win.
The Voyageurs led 1-0 after one period and 3-1 after two.
Scoring goals for De Pere were William Birkholz, Seth VanWychen, Max Greenya, Judeah Kniskern and Landon Smith.
Brett Weckwerth, Greenya, Grant Butrymowicz, Evn Ott and Theodore Matheson added assists for the Voyageurs.
Hans Ridlehoover scored a power-play goal for United off an assist by James Lewis.
De Pere’s Dominic Allen made 17 saves in net, while Brandon Tobak made 33 for Appleton.

Bay Area 5, Fox Cities 2
ASHWAUBENON - The Ice Bears took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a power-play goal by Emily Bill and never trailed in the win over the Stars.
Faye Brunke and Kristina Kruse added goals in the second period for Bay Area with Brunke and Bill also scoring in the third period.
Fox Cities got its goals from Peyton Smith in the second period and Ellery Marsh in the third period.
Kruse had two assists for Bay Area, as did Addison Gady and Julianne Bradford.
Lillian McCracken and Margaret Thomas had assists for Fox Cities.
Parker Bartholomaus had 12 saves for Bay Area. Makenna Otto had 24 saves for Fox Cities.
