Fred VanVleet, Scottie Barnes watched Dalano Banton drop 30 in G League

Toronto Raptors rookie Dalano Banton dropped a team-high 30 points to lead the Raptors 905 to a win over the Westchester Knicks on assignment in the NBA G League.

The Raptors announced prior to the contest that Banton would play with the 905 after seeing limited time with Toronto. He also added nine assists and seven rebounds on 11-of-18 shooting from the field during the 119-116 win at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre.

With Banton on assignment, several Raptors players were on hand to watch him, including Fred VanVleet, Scottie Barnes and others. The performance by Banton offered a glimpse of his potential as a player that can run the floor, finish inside and shoot from beyond the arc.

The assignment with the 905 gave Banton the opportunity to log heavy minutes on the court. He logged 30 minutes in the win, and has yet to see that much time with Toronto to this point of the season.

He showed exactly why the team is so high on him with the 905.

The performance by Banton can help him build positive momentum moving forward either with the 905 or Raptors. It can give him the confidence to perform at a high level, despite seeing limited time with Toronto. With the 905 off until Friday, Banton will rejoin the Raptors.
