Fox Sports video series on Dolphins’ QB Tua Tagovailoa is underway

“One thing about Tua that I don’t know if everybody knows — he’s an assassin.”

The spotlight is on Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa courtesy of Fox Sports, who is rolling out an 8-part video series as part of a tease ahead of the company’s documentary focused on the quarterback’s journey to the NFL. And with the “Tua Talks” video series, Miami Dolphins fans are going to get a great look at their new quarterback.

A few episodes of the series have already dropped. Episode 1 is focused on football specifically — what Tua brings to the table, how he sees the game and the legacy he left behind at Alabama. And watching the three-minute video is sure to get your heart racing and have you eager to see Tagovailoa behind center for the Dolphins.

Episode 2 is also out and the focus is specifically on Tagovailoa’s devastating hip injury against Mississippi State that put his eligibility for the 2020 NFL Draft and future in football in question.

Dr. Lyle Cain Jr, who set Tagovailoa’s dislocated hip and potentially saved the quarterback from a devastating loss of blood flow to his hip socket, speaks in Episode 2 and shed light on the awareness he had in the moment to protect not just Tagovailoa’s health but his public image.

“In my head I said ‘I’m going to pop this hip back in’ but I knew that when that happened that he was probably going to scream because he was out of position,” said Cain Jr.

“When I kind of readied myself to do that, I looked up and the overhead camera was directly above my head, within probably two feet of my head, looking down on me. I just made the quick decision, I said ‘If I do this, this is going to be a big story and it is probably not going to come out right…so I’m going to wait another 60 seconds and get into the tunnel before I pop it back in.'”

Indeed, Tagovailoa’s injury was a massive story. And, thankfully, he appears unimpeded by any lingering effects as he competes for the Dolphins’ starting quarterback job this summer at training camp. There will be plenty more exposure on Miami’s quarterback thanks to Fox Sports, so stay tuned in the coming days.
