Four WNC football players selected to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas all-star game

Four Western North Carolina football players were named to the 2023 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas during the roster reveal Sunday.

Cuttler Adams of Robbinsville, Truitt Manuel of West Henderson, Tyler West of Andrews and Brandon Guest of Reynolds were selected to the team, which will play Dec. 16 against a similar team of senior all-stars from South Carolina.

Adams is the leading rusher for Robbsinville, which is currently undefeated. Through four games, Adams has rushed for 490 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Manuel, an NC State commit for baseball, has shown his football skills this season. The wide receiver has 25 catches for 498 yards with three touchdowns. In a win over North Henderson last week, Manuel caught six passes for 125 yards.

West's blocking aided Andrews' 3-1 start to the season. The Wildcats' running game has excelled, with Dalton Rose leading the conference with 501 yards rushing. West is committed to play football at NC State.

Guest has 27 tackles through five games, including a season-high nine against East Forsyth.

The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, which will be played at Spartanburg (South Carolina) High School, is a game between North and South Carolina, featuring the best senior high school football players from each state. Proceeds are donates to the Shriners Hospitals, 22 hospitals that provide orthopedic and burn care to children, regardless of their ability to pay.
