Four teams still in hunt for final AFC playoff spot

Baltimore, Miami, San Diego and Pittsburgh all remain in the hunt for the final playoff spot in the AFC going into the final week of the season. All four teams need help to get in. Here is the break-down:

Miami (8-7) can get in if it wins and either Baltimore (8-7) loses or San Diego (8-7) wins. The Dolphins lose a head-to-head tiebreaker with Baltimore, but win either a three-way tiebreaker based on conference record and a head-to-head against San Diego.

Baltimore can get in if it wins and either San Diego or Miami loses.

San Diego gets in if it wins and both Baltimore and Miami lose.

Pittsburgh (7-8) can get in if it wins and Miami, Baltimore and San Diego all lose. That result would create a five-way tie for the final spot at 8-8. The Steelers win that because Miami and Bal-timore would be eliminated before getting out of their divisions, leaving the Steelers to go up against San Diego and the New York Jets in a three-way tie.
