Four-star offensive lineman picks Ohio State over Alabama and Notre Dame
As predicted by most, if not all of the experts, four-star offensive lineman Austin Siereveld announced his commitment to Ohio State on Wednesday afternoon. The seventh ranked player from Ohio in the 2023 recruiting cycle (247Sports) chose the Buckeyes over Notre Dame and Alabama who he had named as his other finalists.
The recruiting loss isn’t what Notre Dame wanted, obviously acquiring more talent is always a positive, but it’s hardly a surprise as Siereveld’s interest in the Fighting Irish seemed to dip after Sam Pendleton’s recent commitment.
Notre Dame remains atop the 247Sports 2023 team recruiting rankings as they currently have 10 commitments, all of which are at least graded as four-star prospects even with just one current offensive line commitment.
