Former Vols in the NBA playoffs: April 16 recap
One former University of Tennessee basketball player competed in the NBA Saturday, the first day of the 2022 playoffs. Another did not play and was not on his team’s postseason roster for the Western Conference quarterfinals.
In Philadelphia, the fourth-seeded 76ers took a 1-0 lead in its best-of-7 NBA Eastern Conference quarterfinal series with a 131-111 victory over No. 5 Toronto at Wells Fargo Center.
Tobias Harris started and played 37 minutes for the 76ers.
He had 26 points, six rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block.
Harris was 9-for-14 from the floor, 3-for-5 from beyond the 3-point arc and 5-for-6 from the free throw line.
In Memphis, the Grizzlies, a second seed in the Western Conference, fell to No. 7 Minnesota, 130-117, at FedEx Forum.
Rookie Yves Pons was not on the active roster for game No. 1 for Memphis.
