Former Boston wing MarShon Brooks signs deal with CBA’s Guangdong Southern Tigers

One of the players included in the trade that sent Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Jason Terry, and DJ White to the Brooklyn Nets, kicking off the current Boston Celtics era, has found a new home. Per Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype, former Celtics wing MarShon Brooks has signed a deal with the Chinese Basketball Association’s Guangdong Hongyuan Southern Tigers.

Brooks, a onetime Providence College standout, was dealt in 2013 to Boston from the Nets with Keith Bogans, Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Kris Joseph, three first-round picks and two pick swaps.

The Long Branch, New Jersey, native spent most of his time with the (then) Maine Red Claws (now, Celtics), and played just 10 games with the parent club before he was dealt to the Golden State Warriors in a three-team deal.

Brooks averaged 3.1 points and 1.9 rebounds per game with Boston over that short stint.
