AUBURN — It appears Auburn basketball will have some representation on the world stage this summer.

Walker Kessler has committed to play for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup, according to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday. Kessler spent one season on the Plains, helping lead the Tigers to their first No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll during the 2021-22 season.

Kessler started all 34 games he appeared in with the Tigers, averaging 11.4 points and 8.1 rebounds to go along with 1.1 steals and a whopping 4.6 blocks per game. He was named the Naismith National Defensive Player of the Year ahead of the 2022 NBA Draft, where he was selected No. 22 overall by the Memphis Grizzlies and immediately traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
