Football's offensive and defensive stars with golf state champs: Vote for the Large Class boys athlete of the week

Make sure you not left out in the cold with this week's voting. Vote now for the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries Large Class boys high school athlete of the week for Oct. 9-14.

This week's poll includes high school football players as well as state golf champions.

Here are the 10 candidates.

Parker Elkins, Clarksville: Elkins captured the TSSAA Class 2A state golf individual championship with a 3-under, 137 (68-69) in Sevierville, Tennessee last week.

Blades Brown, Brenwood Academy: Brown tied the boys golf state tournament two-day scoring record, shooting a 6-under-par 66 at the Sevierville Golf Club to finish at 14-under 130 for the tournament, clinching his third consecutive Division II-AA state title last week.

Will Pinson, Franklin: The Admirals standout fired a 2-under, 140 (70-70), through two days to finish third overall in the 2A boys state tournament.

Will Jackson, MBA: Jackson's 4-under, 140 (72-68) was good enough for fifth overall in the DII-AA boys state tournament last week.

Harrison Edwards, Mt. Juliet: Edwards ran for 202 yards with a TD on 18 carries to pace Mt. Juliet in a comeback victory, 38-31, over Lebanon in double overtime last Friday.

Kaleb Beasley, Lipscomb Academy: Beasley had two touchdowns and finished with two interceptions as the Mustangs knocked off Knoxville Catholic, 33-10 last Friday.

Braden Graham, Riverdale: Graham was 18 of 25 passing for 323 yards and five TDs as the Warriors rolled up 55 points in a win over Blackman last week.

Chelton Swafford, Beech: Swafford ran for 151 yards and scored three TDs in the non-region win over Siegel last Friday.

Za'Kiyan Brinkley, Gallatin: Brinkley ran for 151 yards and scored two touchdowns as Gallatin cruised to a 37-6 win over Wilson Central Friday.

Chaseton Dixon, Lebanon: Dixon had five receptions for 119 yards for the Blue Devils in a 38-31 double-overtime loss to Mt. Juliet last Friday.
