Football: Big Central Conference releases re-aligned divisions for next two seasons

The Big Central Football Conference released its realignment for the 2024 and 2025 high school football season Tuesday, making some much-needed changes to some of league’s 12 divisions to account for changes in competitive balance.

The new alignment, which is good for the next two seasons, saw 11 teams change divisions, including three moving up, six moving down, and two changing divisions, but staying in the same group. The divisions are based on a combination of program size and strength of program.

The other big move is compacting the two Group 2 divisions – Patriot Gold and Patriot Silver – from five teams to four teams, and expanding the two Group 1 divisions – Freedom Gold and Freedom Silver – from five teams to six-team divisions.
