Five former Longhorns land within 247Sports’ top 100 transfer portal rankings

There were over 2,000 players who entered the NCAA transfer portal this offseason.

Clint Brewster, Chris Hummer, Jordan Mayton, Blair Angulo, Trey Scott and Chad Carson of 247Sports recently compiled the top 100 college football transfers of the 2021 offseason.

The ratings were heavily influenced by the high school grades of each prospect. Five former Longhorns were included within the top 100, while none of Texas’ additions through the portal were listed.

First-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff have been active in the transfer portal this offseason with the additions of Alabama linebacker Ben Davis, LSU linebacker Ray Thornton, Notre Dame linebacker Ovie Oghoufo and New Mexico State linebacker Devin Richardson.

As is the case with most expected coaching staff changes, several other players chose to pursue opportunities elsewhere. Take a look at the five former Longhorns who landed on 247Sports’ top 100 transfers:
