Five Best Mobile QBs in the NFL Today

For years, the NFL has held a stereotype that the quarterback position had to featured a tall, unathletic man with a cannon for an arm. However, the history of the league saw plenty of men who had manned the position that was smaller than the average QB and could run with the best athletes on the field, and still have a cannon in their arm. Here are some of those players in today's game.

Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals)

Drafted first overall in this past year's NFL draft, Murray almost never suited up for the gridiron. Right before his final year at Oklahoma, Murray was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the Major League Baseball draft as one of the top picks. Lucky for the Arizona Cardinals, Kyler Murray chose the NFL and has already paid dividends. The Cardinals have already matched their win total from the previous season and Murray has come out strong as one of the most exciting players in football. Standing at 5'10, Murray is the shortest quarterback in the league, and the way his career has started, he will hold that title for many, many productive seasons.

Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers)

If he retired today, Aaron Rodgers would be carried into the Hall of Fame on the shoulders on the defensive linemen who tried to tackle him. Rodger's combination of mobile, one of the game's strongest and most accurate arms, and intelligence puts him on par with any quarterback in history. While fast enough to run, Rodgers prefers to scramble around the pocket and look to throw the ball, creating many memorable moments in this career.

DeShaun Watson (Houston Texans)

When DeShaun Watson entered the NFL, his former college coach Dabo Sweeny compared his quarterback to Michael Jordan in terms of talent. Watson has only backed up that statement by putting fear into the minds of his opposition. Despite an offensive line that has been so bad, Watson has been sacked on a historical level, Watson has led Houston to a postseason berth in his second season and is on pace for a second this year. In his first season, before it was ended by injury, was on pace to break the rookie touchdown passes record, showing he can beat you with his arm and his legs.

Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys)

It's hard enough to be a QB in the NFL, let alone the starting quarterback for the most hated/popular organization in the sport. Dak Prescott has taken that challenge in stride. Combined with an accurate arm, good decision making, and athleticism that allows him to both run and run over opposing defenders, Prescott has led Dallas to the postseason twice in his three years as a starter and has become the undisputed leader in the Cowboys' locker room. To the dismay of fans around the sport, Dallas looks to have their franchise player of the future.

Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks)

The favorite to win the MVP this season. One of the youngest starting quarterbacks to win a Super Bowl. Husband of Ciara. The only goal left for Russell Wilson at this point in his life is to run for President of the United States. On the football field, there is virtually nothing that opposing teams can do to stop him. He is as strong and accurate as any passer and as fast as any player in every field he plays on. He rarely makes a poor decision with the football in his hand, so the only defense against the Seahawks is praying that your quarterback has a better game than Wilson.
