Finebaum says the win over Mississippi State ‘adds gasoline on the fire’

It was a fun night in Death Valley on Saturday as Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers got their first conference win of the season against a good Mississippi State team.

The Bulldogs entered the game with a 2-0 record after convincing wins against Memphis and at Arizona in the first two weeks of the season. LSU entered the game 1-1 after a heartbreaking loss to Florida State in Week 1 and a resounding victory over Southern in Week 2.

The Bulldogs came into the game with a high-flying offense led by Will Rogers, one of the best quarterbacks in the league. SEC Network host Paul Finebaum believes this win will add fuel to the fire in Baton Rouge.

“Losing to Florida State now doesn’t matter as much (for LSU). You won the conference game, so you’re still alive. That is going to be like gasoline on fire for the Bayou Nation. They feel good, and I think they beat a good team. Mississippi State came in there with a lot of enthusiasm.”

Hopefully, the win over Mississippi State will propel this LSU team to a lot more conference wins this season and an appearance in a high-profile bowl game after the regular season.
