Fieldcrest tops El Paso-Gridley in battle of No. 10 ranked teams; PC upset bid foiled

MINONK — Fieldcrest proved last week's win over El Paso-Gridley in the McLean County Tournament championship was no fluke Friday as the Knights pulled away late for a 50-41 Heart of Illinois Conference victory in a matchup of ranked teams.

The Trojans led by four at the break but Putnam County outscored DTHS by 11 in the third to take control of the contest.
