FHSAA Soccer Rankings: See where area teams stack up among entire state of Florida

Happy new year.

And happy first rankings for both boys and girls soccer from the Florida High School Athletic Association.

The state released its first rankings of the 2023-24 season on Tuesday, as teams continue to work their way through the regular season. District tournaments are on the horizon, with the last regular-season playing date scheduled for Jan. 20. District tournaments will begin on Jan. 24 and go through Feb. 1.

The Gulf Breeze boys soccer team is the area's top team in the state, ranked third overall with a 9-0-1 record, its lone non-win coming at Niceville on Nov. 9 (a 3-3 draw), but the Dolphins got revenge on Dec. 15 with a 1-0 home victory over the Eagles.

For the girls' side, Gulf Breeze is also the area's top-ranked team, sitting at 42nd overall and 11th in Class 6A. The defending state champions, with a 5-4-2 overall record, have played some tough competition at different tournaments throughout the season. However, the Dolphins have won their last two games to close out 2023 – and will look to continue that momentum on Friday with a road game at Pace.

Here are the rankings for all Escambia and Santa Rosa County teams, and where they sit within Region 1 and District 1.
