There were plenty of great performances on the lacrosse fields last week, and Tommy Cassell found some of the best for readers to vote on to decide the Hometeam Boys' Lacrosse Player of the Week.

Congratulations to Shrewsbury's Jacob Barranco, who topped last week's poll with 349 votes (53.4 percent) to edge Oakmont's Quin Buckley (153 votes) for the honor.

Player of the week nominations are selected by reporters based on coaches reporting game results into the Telegram & Gazette sports department and game coverage from the T&G sports department staff. Anthony Del Negro, Wachusett

This senior scored three of his five goals in the second half, including his final one with less than 20 seconds to play, to lift the host Mountaineers past Agawam.

Jack and Nate Gulachenski, Algonquin

Jack secured four goals and an assist in the Titans’ 11-10 win over North Middlesex before twin brother, Nate, added the rare goalie goal in a one-goal loss to Hopkinton.

Josh Hoecker and Nate Kavanagh, St. Bernard’s

These two teammates both had five goals and two assists as the Bernardians blanked visiting Worcester.

Luc Masse, AMSA

Masse scored four goals and two assists as the Eagles cruised to a 14-2 win over Assabet on Monday, picking up his 100th career point when he fed teammate Colin Glynn for a goal in the second quarter to move AMSA to 5-0 on the season.

Jackson Mastroianni, Valley Tech

This senior produced six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in a victory over Bellingham, six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in a win over Auburn and eight points (4 goals, 4 assists) in a defeat of St. Bernard’s.

Joey Salerno, Tyngsborough

This sophomore scored five times in the host Tigers’ 12-7 victory over St. Bernard’s.

Giovanni Tracey, Shepherd Hill

This senior scored seven goals to lead the visiting Rams past Bay Path, 15-2.
