Fatal motorcycle crash reported near Lake Sherwood
A motorcycle rider was killed Friday night after a crash in the Lake Sherwood area, according to California Highway Patrol reports.
The accident was reported shortly after 7 p.m. near East Potrero Road and Lake Sherwood Drive, according to CHP and Ventura County Fire Department reports.
The site was said to be near Pixton Street, east of county Fire Station 33, in the unincorporated community near the east county line.
The CHP's log indicated the rider had hit a fire hydrant, although that information could not immediately be confirmed.
Personnel from the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office were summoned to the scene around 7:30 p.m.
No other details were immediately available.
