Fans react to Texas vs. Alabama being dubbed inaugural Allstate Crossbar Classic
Despite not joining the SEC until the beginning of the 2024 season, the Texas Longhorns will travel to Tuscaloosa on Sept. 9 this year to take on Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide as the second game in a home-and-home series between the two sides. The Crimson Tide outlasted the Longhorns, 20-19, in Austin last year in what was one of the games of the year.
Today, Alabama football announced that its matchup with the Longhorns in Week 2 will be called the Allstate Crossbar Classic with the game obviously sponsored by Allstate. Each year, the Crossbar Classic will move to a new city and a new matchup, but what a cool place to start the tradition. The 2023 matchup will likely be a top-10 matchup with playoff implications.
The announcement caught a lot of fans by surprise, and here were the top reactions to the news.
