Falcons off to their best start since the 2017 season

Success is something that has eluded the Atlanta Falcons over the last few seasons, but after a 2-2 start, things finally appear to be moving in the right direction.

While we’re not picking the Falcons to make the Super Bowl just yet, they certainly aren’t the worst team in the NFL, as some analysts predicted prior to the season.

USA TODAY’s Nate Davis predicted the Falcons to end the season with just two wins. After four games, Atlanta has already reached Davis’ projected win total with 13 still left to play.

This is the team’s best start since the 2017 season when Atlanta went 3-1 under Dan Quinn and eventually won a playoff game. Over the last 10 years, the Falcons have started with a record of 2-2 or better four times, making the playoffs in two of those years.

Atlanta will enter Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a two-game winning streak and a chance to move into first place in the NFC South with another victory.
