Falcons fans react to Broncos releasing QB Russell Wilson

Just two years after completing a blockbuster trade for Russell Wilson, the Denver Broncos are expected to release the veteran quarterback when the new league year begins on March 13. The move isn’t a total surprise as Broncos head coach Sean Payton and Wilson rarely seemed to be on the same page last season.

Despite passing for over 3,000 yards, 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions, Wilson was benched late in the year after refusing to waive his injury clause. The former Seahawks QB has made nine Pro Bowls over his 12-year NFL career and should have no shortage of suitors once he’s officially released.

Could the Atlanta Falcons be a potential landing spot? Signing Wilson would allow the team to draft a quarterback without having to play him right away. Falcons fans on Twitter were lukewarm about the idea.
