Ex-Yankee, Met Robinson Cano signs with Diablos Rojos of Mexican League: report

Robinson Cano is continuing his baseball career with the Diablos Rojos of the Mexican League.

Enrique Rojas of ESPN reported that the former Yankees and Mets second baseman has signed with the team, which is slated to play the Bronx Bombers at the end of spring training in Mexico City.

Cano, 41, spent nine seasons with the Yankees, winning a World Series in 2009 and appearing in five All-Star Games during his Bronx tenure before returning to New York with the Mets in a deal that also brought Edwin Diaz to Queens in 2019.

His Mets tenure was less memorable and clouded with a PED suspension in 2021 – the second of his career.

Despite being under contract through 2023, the Mets released Cano early in the 2022 season where he split the remainder of his time with the Padres and Braves. He did not play in 2023.
