Ex-Giant Cam Fleming signs with Broncos

Former New York Giants offensive tackle Cam Fleming finally has a new home, signing a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos on Thursday.

The Broncos, of course, will visit the Giants at MetLife Stadium in Week 1 of the 2021 regular-season. And in addition to Fleming, former head coach Pat Shurmur will also be in tow.

Fleming was a fourth-round pick of the New England Patriots in the 2014 NFL draft and spent his first four seasons playing for Bill Belichick & Co. Over that span, Fleming won two Super Bowl titles while protecting Tom Brady.

In 2018, Fleming joined the Dallas Cowboys and would stay there through the 2019 season. He then signed a free agent deal with the Giants in 2020 and went on to appear in 16 games (with 16 starts) — the only time in Fleming’s career he started all 16 games.

Pro Football Focus gave Fleming a 58.4 overall grade a season ago, including a pass blocking grade of 56.5 and a run blocking grade of 62.0.

The Giants will likely have Nate Solder and Matt Peart competing for Fleming’s former spot come training camp.
