Everything you need to know about Rays spring training
The Rays are set to open their 27th spring training, with pitchers and catchers reporting Tuesday and the first workout on Wednesday.
The biggest change from last year is that they are back in Port Charlotte, having been forced to relocate to multiple sites in 2023 due to damage to their facility caused by Hurricane Ian.
As usual, there are some new faces among the players and staff, and plenty of optimism for another successful season.
Here is what you need to know:
Spring training schedule
Workouts: Begin Wednesday at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, usually starting around 10 a.m. and lasting about two hours. Admission and parking are free.
Exhibitions: Home games at Charlotte Sports Park; see raysbaseball.com for tickets. Split squad indicated by (ss). Saturday/Sunday games on WDAE radio; weekday home games on raysbaseball.com. Ten games will be televised by Bally, starting with Feb. 25 vs. Detroit, but the full schedule is not yet finalized.
