The last time Michigan football and Michigan State were featured on ESPN College GameDay, it didn’t go so well for the Wolverines. But now, six years later, with the game in East Lansing rather than Ann Arbor, could that see a reversal of fortune?
While we already knew that the battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy would be on Fox as part of its Big Noon Kickoff, with all of the notables on-hand — such as Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, and Brady Quinn — ESPN took its time deciding where it would send its College GameDay crew. Certainly, considering that ABC is carrying the Ohio State vs. Penn State game in prime time, that would have been the choice, but the Nittany Lions’ loss to Illinois muddied the waters a bit.
Now that the Wolverines and Spartans are the sole top 10 matchup in college football, the network made the late decision to head to East Lansing for the game.
