England vs India, Test series and tour: Next match, full schedule and fixtures
England could be spared a rematch with Jasprit Bumrah in Rajkot next week with India considering resting him for the third Test.
Virat Kohli, meanwhile, is now not expected to play any part in the series, having initially sat out the first two matches for “personal reasons”. It is still unknown why the former captain is unavailable for selection.
India won the second match of the series thanks to Ollie Pope’s 196 and Tom Hartley’s second-innings seven-for. India bounced back with victory in the second match, set up by Yashasvi Jaiswal’s double century and rounded off by Bumrah’s nine wickets in the match.
The hosts are expected to name their squad for the next two Tests by the end of the week. England, meanwhile, are on a break with their families in Abu Dhabi.

Although there was no studio presence at all for the first Test, for rest of the series, TNT Sports flew Alastair Cook and Steven Finn to Sweden in order to get up early and provide an on-screen presence. The studio host is Kate Mason.
The live radio coverage is on Talksport 2, not BBC Test Match Special. Although the BBC bid for the rights, they were beaten by the commercial broadcaster. Talksport will broadcast the next leg of England’s tour of India primarily from London with a significantly reduced team on location in Rajkot and Ranchi.
