Embiid, 76ers 'not too scared' of 0-2 deficit vs. Celtics

Following a loss in Game 2 in Boston on Thursday, the Philadelphia 76ers return home for the next two games and, according to All-Star Joel Embiid, nothing to worry about.

Embiid and the 76ers led by 22 points over the Celtics with a chance to even the Eastern Conference playoff series at 1-1 on Thursday but a one-point game from point guard Ben Simmons and defensive breakdowns opened the door for Boston to rally and secure a two-game advantage.

"We know what we gotta correct," Embiid said. "We need to be better defensively. Offensively, we just got to keep moving the ball and do our thing. We know what we gotta do. Honestly, I'm not too scared because we know what we gotta do to be able to win games. They're a very good team, they're well-coached. We just gotta execute our game plan."

Boston has never blown a 2-0 lead in its extensive playoff history.

Simmons had five turnovers and missed the four shots he attempted from the field.

"I'm going to have a bad game. It happens," Simmons said. "Bad timing."

After Philadelphia squandered a first-half lead of 48-26, deadeye shooting from JJ Redick helped the 76ers capture a 98-93 lead with six minutes remaining. But the Celtics finished the game by reclaiming the lead with an 11-2 run.

"There's not going to be a pity party," 76ers coach Brett Brown said. "We'll figure out things we have to do to win."
