El Paso track and field athletes find success at UIL area meets

The UIL area track meets took place Friday and El Paso athletes found success leading up to next week's regionals. Here is a look at some of the top performances.

Class 6A

  • Adelynn Rodriguez, Eastwood,1,600 and 3,200 meters champion

  • Aidan Danny Torres, Eastwood, 3,200 meters champion and 1,600 meter champion

  • Sarah Dovenbarger, Eastlake, pole vault champion

  • Mont Packer, Franklin, pole vault champion.

  • La O Samoa Talolo, Coronado, second-pace discus.

  • William McLilly, Montwood, high jump champion.

  • Jordan Morales, Franklin, first in 100 meters and second in 200 meters.

  • Emily Orr, Franklin, first in 800 meters and second in 1,600 and 3,3200 meters.

  • Mark Barajas, Pebble Hills, won the 800 meters and was second in the 1,600 meters.

  • Julissa Daniels, Pebble Hills, finished second in the 100 meters and 200 meters and was fourth in the long jump.

  • Owen Levesque, Coronsdo, was first in the110 meter hurdles, second in the high jump and third in the 300 meter hurdles.

  • The Franklin boys team won the team title with 108 points.

Class 4A and 5A

  • Idaly Martinez, Fabens, won the 100, 200 meters and long jump.

  • Alexia Martinez, Fabens won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 meters.

  • Ajah Walker, San Elizario, won the 100 meter hurdles and triple jump, was second in the high jump and was second in the long jump.

  • Amarie Brown, Bel Air, won the 100 meters.

  • Cydney Davis, Bel Air, was second in the triple jump, fourth in the long jump, second in the 100 meter hurdles.

  • Rebecca Duran, Chapin, won the 800 and 1, 600 meters

  • Julianna Patton, won the 100 meter, 300 meter hurdles and long jump.

  • Delanie Harrison, Burges, won the shot put and discus.

  • Salvador Duarte, Austin, won the 100 and 200 meters.

  • Isaac Rocha, Clint, won the 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles.

  • Samuel Montes, Bowie, won the shot put.

  • Joseph Gomez Whitten, Parkland, won the 100 and 200 meters.

  • Seth Truax, Chapin, who made state in in Class 5A last year, won the 800 meters.

  • Miles Westbrook, El Paso High, won the 1,600 and 3,200 meters.

  • The Chapin boys and girls teams won area titles.

  • The San Elizario boys and girls teams swept the team titles.
