Franklin's Jordan Imperial wins El Paso Times' Jarritos High School Athlete of the Week

Franklin senior outside hitter Jordan Imperial is this week's El Paso Times' Jarritos High School Athlete of the Week.

Imperial had 31 kills and 28 digs in two wins against Americas and Coronado.

Here are the top four vote-getters:

  • Jordan Imperial, Franklin volleyball with 40,282 votes or 45.84%.

  • Javier Hernandez, Fabens football with 32,972 votes or 37.52%.

  • Bianca Sierra, Montwood volleyball with 6,759 votes or 7.69%.

  • Luke Lomeli, Eastlake football with 5,632 votes or 6.41%.

The El Paso Times will be honoring high school athletes this year on a weekly basis that you, the readers, help determine. We will be taking weekly nominations and will release a list of finalists for the Jarritos High School Athlete of the Week at 2 p.m. each Tuesday.

Students in all varsity sports are eligible to be nominated. The poll will close at 2 p.m. Thursday and the winners will be announced Friday each week.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Monday and can be submitted through email at fchavez@elpasotimes.com, by contacting Felix Chavez through text or on social media on X (formerly Twitter).

This week's nominees were as follows:

  • Hannah Garcia, volleyball, El Paso High. Had 74 assists and 22 digs in two matches last week.

  • Bianca Sierra, volleyball, Montwood. The senior setter had 80 assists in two matches last week, including 58 against Socorro.

  • Evan Minjarez, QB, Eastwood. Minjarez passed for 327 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 45 yards on nine carries in 38-33 win against Coronado.

  • Luke Lomeili, QB, Eastlake. Passed for 328 yards and had six touchdown passes in win against Socorro.

  • Javier Hernandez, WR/DB, Fabens. Had 113 yards receiving on offense, 18 tackles and a forced fumble on defense and 114 yards punting.

  • Noah Moreno, QB, Bel Air. Moreno threw for 453 yards and seven touchdowns in 48-25 win against Hanks.

  • Brian Gonzalez-Promesse, RB, Americas. Gonzalez scored the winning touchdown and two-point conversion in 24-23 win against Pebble Hills.

  • Jordan Imperial, outside hitter, Franklin. Imperial had 31 kills and 28 digs in two wins against Americas and Coronado.
